Ok, with the coming conclusion of my chaos undivided 500 point army (only 2 chaos hounds, 5 maruader on horse, and 4 gargoyles to go) coming soon, I am faced with the dillemma of what type of army to paint up next. I realize that the army won't actually be started for about two more months, but I want to start thinking about it now.
So, I leave it in your hands.
Option 1. 500 point Dwarf army (probably will be base on DoW list, as it will contain a lot of mounted dwarfs)
Option 2. 500 point Empire army (probably based on a middenheim theme, as I really like the army list that came out during the Storm of Chaos)
Option 3. 500 point Ogre army (probably a yeti based army)
Option 4. 500 point Tomb Kings army (mummies, skeletons, and maybe a genie or two?)
Option 5. Expand my existing 500 point Night Goblin army to 750 points.
I voted ogre kingdoms because they are a great looking army that not very many people play/paint. I dont know how many yhetees youll get in a 500 point army though. I think you should paint a little bigger army unless you dont want to.
I used to be superbock, if anyone cares.
Come one whats not to like about an army of fopish men in multicolored tights?
In an Imperium of a million worlds, what is the death of one world in the cause of purity?
He who allows the alien to live,
shares its crime of existence.
Hi mousekiller, nice to see you back in this area of the forum!
In my opinion your style of painting fits perfectly for small guys like the Goblins you did. The many little details you usually add also make really big things like the Giant you still have to finish (!!!8X) look very impressive. You can always find another detail you had not discovered last time you looked at it.
An army of Dwarfs might also profit from this.
On the other hand man sized minis look a bit busy if you add so many gimmicks. It's not that I did not like your chaos army, I just think the goblins looked even better.
The Empire might be a bit too plane I think. Not so much room for creativity.
With the Tomb Kings it is somehow similar. Although there is more room for creativity in general, these bony guys just do not consist of very much (mainly bones...)
The Ogres are a bit bigger than humans so the business should be no problem, but nevertheless...
I could not decide between Dwarfs and Goblins...
and as you already know I love your goblin army, but in the end I voted for the Dwarfs.
Also hoping that painting the Goblins' foes will make you paint some more of the green horrors afterwards and in the end create two whole armies fighting each other

Eh, we know you can paint goblins up brilliantly. I'd love to see some Ogres, but that's for selfish reasons as that's my next army to paint.
Selfish reasons aside, I just think those models would look great considering how well you paint.
But you know, I'm curious. Why do you paint such small armies? Do you play with them? Sell them? Just like painting them?
Thanks for the votes guys... really appreciate it. Will be back soon with the total tally.
David: the small armies are just a start... I plan to increase the size of them all eventually. I am just way to scatterbrained to concentrate on much more than 500 points at a time (i.e. if I had continued to paint Night Goblins, I think I would have gone insane... but now after taking a break to paint the Chaos Undivided army I think I would be ready to retackle them for a bit)... I don't play with them at all, though some day I think it would be nice to get back into gaming. I have sold some units in the past, and some single miniatures, but I really do this hobby for the fun of it and don't plan to sell these armies.
As I mentioned earlier, this vote was a multi-forum event... so now I have tallied all the numbers from the different sites together below.
And the Night Goblins are the winners. Thanks again to all of you that took the time to vote.
