Well then, my first painting blog. Letís just hope I stick to my thing and get my army/armies done before Iím deciding I need something different
Now on to the list which the title already states, will be a Vostroyan army. Itíll be a 2000-ish points list with the possibility of expanding to do Apocalypse games (do I hear someone yell Baneblade?) I intend to use the list for casual play, Apoc and probably some Cities of death style games.
Needless to say that a Vostroyan army will at least include some conversion work.
As for basing I decided to go on a urban theme in winter. Snow fits the Sovjet inspired models perfectly I think

-Special weapons squad (3 snipers; Sharpshooter Doctrine)

3 x Missile launcher team
- Fire support Squad
3 x Autocannon teamCost371
Basilisk w/ Indirect fire, Armored Crew compartmentCost145Total1998
Number of models; 87 (3 vehicles, 84 infantry)
For Apocalypse I Intend to add in at least one Baneblade or Hellhammer. Furthermore 2 Leman Russ Exterminators, 2 ďnormalĒ Russes and a Vanquisher. But then again, thereís also something floating around my mind to take some Witchhunters as allies and buff up the army that way.
For Cities of death I might do some kind of conversion to represent a certain stratagem but thatís a bit in the grey at the moment.
This is the stuff I have at the moment, so there's still a lot of stuff to be acquired somehow.
3 Lascannon teams, 2 Mortar teams, 6 Plasmagunners, 3 medic, 2 Sergeants, 3 x 2 snipers, 5 x 3 Troopers, 1 Commisar, 1 x 2 Officers, 1 Steel legion sentinel, 1 Leman Russ demolisher & 1 Baneblade.
And completly on the left there is my die of doom... it'll tear tanks apart just by rolling it 0:
First thing I'm going to start is
The special weapon squads (both of em) and the command squad of the command platoon w/ Commisar.
Almost a month advanced and finally there are some pics.
Will post (or at least attempt to shoot and post) better pictures some other time, but given I don't have decent lighting for photography and I pretty much am at my job at daytime, this is all we've got to do it with.
The command squad as a whole including the commisar
A more detailed shot of my officer
Next up, like in the first post, will be the sniper teams.
Finally some Vostroyans. Glad to see the progress is coming along nicely. Keep it up!
Just in time before the new year I got my snipers finished. Also, the 2 x 3 additional troopers that come with the squad. All in all 12 models done. 70-something models to go now.
Squad 1 consisting of 3 snipers w/ goggles on
Squad 2 with 3 bareheaded snipers
Next up will be the armored fist squad (without the Chimera) & the Sentinel
Dear All Concerned,
These models look great!
I myself may be working on an armoured company in the near future so I am ambitious to see what you have in store!
Thin you paint a bit, your models paint is looking a bit (just a bit) "chuncky"
Re-look over some of your models cause I think I can see (might just be the pics) some areas of black undercoat
Hope this helped!

Looking good so far.
Another thing you may want to consider is a simple Flesh wash on the flesh for some more depth.
omg! its the russians! good work mate
That's a lot of intricately detailed models you've got to paint there. I managed about a platoon of these guys before having to get away from them and paint tanks!
Looking good so far, keep up the good work.
