Great looking termies you got there. I like the green stuffy shoulder you did, but one question, on the left wing, when facing the shoulder head on, why does the tip of it look to be not there, but replaced with a little pit?

Other than that, very clean and cool look you have going on. Keep up the good work.

Brother Tierius I learned one main thing while painting up these guys:

Thin paint. I know that people say/hear this all the time, but the bleached bone/brown color I used showed brush lines like crazy on my test models. I actually did about 5 coats of paint on these guys. I thinned down my paints maybe more than other people would but found that I was able to minimize brush lines that way. The 5th coat is actually thinner than the first four. In fact watery is the word I would use. This really gave me a smooth finish.

I have also found that personally working one model at a time is the best way to go. I tried doing the series: paint all the basecoat, paint all the armor, paint all the power fists, paint all the storm bolters.....But I didnt really make it past starting to do all the armor. I found that I did much better work by concentrating on one model at a time.

Interesting story actually lol. My cat got ahold of the shoulder pad and put a giant tooth mark in the side of the shoulder pad. SO. When I sculped the deathwing icon I cut that part of the wing out, dug out some of the model, and made it look like he took a bullet. After that I locked the cat out of the room for good....that and she was drinking the water out of my rinse cup which i dont think is very healthy lol. I will try and get a shot of it to show you better.

Luckily for you you have deathwing, not tyranids or some giant mass army. I would feel bad for anyone who did one model at a time with 100's of little bugs or what have you...

I totally agree. I feel bad for them too. We do have it easier Deathwing and Bikes are not bad when it comes to painting one at a time.

Just after reading through the whole thread kendo and I have to say top notch. Some rep on the way for you. I love good detailed painting threads and yours fits the bill!

Great smooth bone and modelling. If I was to give any critical comment it would be that your bases are not up the the models high standards.

Overall top notch though.

Gah! How have I missed this thread up until now? Apologies, BK.

Your Deathwing look excellent - I definitely tip my hat to you on the work you're doing here. Very clean and strong colors. Love the conversions too. I echo Chemicalcaveman's sentiment about your bases (never been a fan of that uber green grass flock), but solid work nonetheless.

I'm only a week or so late, but I'm glad my WIP thread could be of some help to you. I'm really looking forward to watching this project progress.

Well it has been 5 months since i have had time to sit down and do painting. This that and the other events happened in life and prevented me from putting in any painting time. A promotion at work and getting married to name a couple. BUT, life has settled and I am back at this project. I have 3 termies to go and I will be posting updates here soon! I am sure you all cant wait lol
