The story thus far: One day Walex was on a forum and noticed that the tale of painters project was to start anew. "Aha!" He thought, "Here's something to motivate me to paint a chaos space marine army!" and so he signed up for it then and there. It was not until a little while later that he realised that he was very poor and so decided, reasoning that he already had some marines loitering around, to switch to the side of the Imperium.
And now for some fluff:
The sons of Walex (name not finalised, ego may permit change at later date) are an Ultramarines successor chapter who like to stick to the Codex due to a lack of original thought on the behalf of the heigher ups. They are about as vanilla as can be in their past present and future prospects (plus I'm creatively lazy). Their one major deviation from Codex patterns is their obliging my present thunder hammer fetish and their chapter dissadvantage being that due to their cheap to raise status they have some terrible miniatures in...
And now what you've all been waiting for; some piccies!
What I've got levvied so far.
So far painted:
Half a techmarine:
And Half a Chaplain:
Cunning readers will notice that I've only done things with a pre-prescribed colour scheme. This is, of course, because I haven't decided how to paint the army yet... I'm thinking vanilla; any suggestions?
List: (first 1500)
5 marines, melta;
2X5 marines, flamer;
2X5 marines, lascannon;
10 marines, 2X plasma cannon, 2Xheavy bolter;
2X razorbacks, lascannons;
Razorback, heavy bolters;
2X whirlwinds. (or something along those lines)

Looking cool so far. Lots of old minis I see. should be an interesting force.
As for colors, have you looked at the UM successor chapters? any of the white and blue ones look pretty cool IMO. But theres plenty of cool schemes you could do as well. I would just make your own out of your favorite colors, tweaking it around to look natural and not too garish.
keep up the work
We paupers can't keep up with all the new releases; I'll work doubly hard to make these dire miniatures look good though!
Up, up and away!
