Welcome to Librarium Online!
So, I'm not going to tell who this is for, so no pms or posts asking 0:
For my mini in the exchange, I have decided to explore a race I have never done anything with before... Orks.
Yep, I've never even played against these guys. I have the OLD codex, but I haven't even seen the new one. Figured it'd be something different, though, and with the Kommando's head hidden under a black hood, the pressure to get that perfect green skin is a bit lessened.
It's also the first "real" painting I've done in a while. The basecoating is coming along well, and I'll have pics soon, but I'm a little stuck on what to paint the shirt and pants. The boots are black, the harnesses brown leather, the hood black. I don't have any Kommando Khaki, but I was thinking of doing an urban camo scheme. Thoughts?
How can you not have kommando khaki? It's the best colour n the whole range!
Some sort of blue/grey camo pattern perhaps? Like the Eavy Metal Cadians were for a while.
Up, up and away!
I agree with Walex, how can you not own this colour?! I swear by it (every night =P) for highlighting most the time as it gives a more natural highlight than say adding white. Buy some.
I would go with a grey cammo scheme, perhaps as suggested with a bit of blue added, that could work very nicely.
Red looks good with green...
I would try to make a really not camo-y, camoflage. Orks aren't really well in camoflaging themselves...
Sheesh! Seems I've committed a cardinal sin
Anyway, at SOME point I'll buy the Khaki, or the VGC equivalent anyway. I've finished the standard undercoat, now just the metallics to do and a "base" model will be ready for pics! I decided to go with an "urban camo" style, so I've basecoated the uniform in VGC Wolf Grey (known to Citadel painters as Space Wolves' Grey). He looks like he's in his pajamas right now
Anyway, pics to come, I promise!
