Wood Elves Redux [Pic Heavy]

I finally got a good camera, so I've been reshooting my Wood Elves.

I started these when the new army came out, two years ago. I'm tempted to go back and rework several of the models, especially some of the characters, but chances are that I won't. I'm painting and ebaying Ogres and that will keep me busy for some time.

I do intend, though, to give the Warhawks new bases, do touchup paint work, and touchup some bases, too.

Fleet of Foot

I've got about 38 glade guard, three units, each painted slightly differently. The darkest one was the first batch I did and just starting to figure them out.

The wardancers are a bit worse for wear, despite many coats of varnish. And that varnish caused a problem when I painted them however long ago. I used micropens for the tatoos and was really happy. Until I applied the varnish and learned a lesson about how micropens and acrylics interact.

I'm tempted to paint some more and sell these, but time and money, time and money.

Last, Eternal Guard.

I've got 33 of these buggers with two command units. They took me about 3 months to do and forced me to take a break from painting wood elves.

I still have a box of glade guard, another of glade riders, 4 warhawks, three or four heroes (two ltd edition nobles), and I think that's it. I'll probably paint and sell the guard and riders, maybe paint and keep the warhawks and sell the old ones, and keep most of the heroes, especially the one I've got on my painting desk now. It's got too much work in it to sell.

But still, I've got to get through a lot of ogres....

all on one page! great work the glade gard stood out for me as i could seethe time it would have taken to do 38!!!
