SGluciousa, your test model looks good. Hope to see more soon.

O.k. Well it’s the end of week one and I’ve been quite busy.
These are the first unit of Mutants (Barghesi warriors). Some of the green stuff
work I’ve done is a little rough. But paint wise I’m quite proud.
(C+C is welcome)

They look great boomer! I think one thing that you could work on is the bases. They seem a little sloppy when there is that much fluffy moss on them. Maybe limiting that could bring out the model more.

What pieces are you using for the head and torso? I can't figure it out.

Thanks dude.
That lichin stuff is b++++d to work with. It melts on contact with super glue
and stinks like moldy socks. But i will try and prune the bigger bushes down abit.
The parts are pretty simple, pig iron heads, crypt ghouls bodies, the orks arms
that hold the shootas were cut and repostioned to face more forward, and the other
hand was severed and a chainsword blade was crude stuck on.
The skin is quite easy to do, first I undercoated them all black, then two thin coats
of hawk turquoise (to make sure all the black was covered).
Then I washed the model in black wash then brown wash. After all that
was dry I just used thinned down hawk turquoise to highlight the skin.

As i'm using the LatD list I did think about giving them the Nurgle bonus, but instead I think I will give them the Khornate one instead, making them +1 S, so they
are as strong as Space Marines. Seems the more hyperviolent choice!

After comparing the pictures to the models, i think i will take some pictures tonight,
the pictures are very dark and don't show the painting that well.

Excellent as previously stated Boomer. Can't wait to see some heroes and characters within this list and theme... what've you got planned?

Hobbit88 is that to me or Boomer? If it is to me than I do not have much planned with the army. I am making a very simple army. If you look at the army list you can see that there is no special characters or anything along those lines. I do plan on converting almost all of my marines to have more dynamic or different poses just to change thing up a bit. Besides that I might just make the captain special. Overall I just want a space marine army that you often don't see. I might make my dreadnought have some big WOW factor...we shall see

Well, here's what I've achieved for the month:

Purchases-
1 Champion of Nurgle
1 Box of Chaos Warriors
1 $225 Speeding Ticket
total (not counting the ticket): $55

Following the purchase of my two units of Marauders, I decided that I wanted to start playing 500pt games, and bought appropriate units. It is the start of a new month, so this was a legal trip to the shop.
I have decided that I love assembling Chaos Warriors, and have decided on a very basic scheme. Step 1- paint black. Step 2- drybrush silver. Step 3- if it's not silver, paint it green. Step 4- if it hasn't been painted yet, it's brown. Step 5- drybrush entire model with green and brown. Step 6- wonder if that was the right approach as you touch-up the model.

The models look very good ranked up. No, they are not award-winning works of art, and once I can save up the cash for a camera, I will have pics of my whole army. My Cellphone just doesn't cut it for pictures of anything smaller than a dreadnought.

Oh- and that speeding ticket?? Don't ask. Just say that I was going.... fast. I'm an Ork at heart

Totals thus far:
1 Champion: $20
12 Warriors: $35
16 Marauders: $35
16 Marauders: $ 35
total: $125

next month: car insurance (oh God help me), and perhaps a Lord of Nurgle

The above comment was to Boomer. So glad to see a dynamic Marine army that's completely converted. We see Space Marine armies all too often as you say. I've not much knowledge on pre-Heresy stuff, just started reading the Horus Heresy series which has inspired me to make a small Luna Wolves force at some point for a campaign based on the books, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of your army! When will we be seeing the Dreadnought by the way?

After reading some of the upcoming January releases for Second Wave Ork releases, a few of my things will be put off til then (Grots and Stormboyz mainly) but I'll be adding some other things in place of them for this thread and will end up lowering my points target in accordance... but we'll deal with that nearer the time

Good going all, and as usual, keep up the good work!
