For anyone that knows me the only times I will really get into painting an army is when I like the model or am getting ready for a tournament. This time it's a tournament and I want to take my untried Empire with me. Last time I painted an army for a tournament (Lizardmen) I left it until the week before to paint it. Needless to say I will never in my whole life paint another skink!
Having learnt from experience I've decided to leave myself with a bit more time with the Empire, and to help keep me on track I'm going to be keeping this log of my efforts. Comments, suggestions for painting/conversion techniques are always appreciated!
First on the production line was my War Altar with Arch Lector. I really don't like the standard model so I went for a bit of a conversion:
Many apologies for the poor quality snaps, my camera is rubbish and I'm poor
Next up, 20 Swordsmen!

From what I can see it looks good. That's a great conversion, I really dig it!
Ok, the next stage is the swordsmen. At the moment I have the following plan:
I really like the idea of unit fillers to make the army look smarter and more eye catching. I'll make all 20 swordsmen for the unit in case I come up against a touchy opponent, but otherwise I like the idea of swordsmen having their mascot Ogre. I'll either convert my own Ogre or use the Imperial looking Ogre maneater.

Sorry for the mild necromancy but have to comment.
That War Wagon/War Altar is pant-wettingly awesome!
Do you mind if I steal the idea for my proposed renegade Lector?

Be my guest lol.
Sorry it's been so long since an update. I did actually paint the whole army but my camera broke!
I took it to the GT and finished 23rd, so will be heading off to the Final in February.
