Outstanding as always Mate!

Yay, more things for everyone to look at!
First up, as you've all been so patient in waiting for him, Brother-Captain Taal has had a bit of a (equipment) revamp:
And I also finished work on my unit of Tharn Ravagers (including the Shaman UA, and White Mane solo)...
These guys were great fun to paint, but just like Kromac, I hit a brick wall halfway through, and just couldn't get past it. Too many frikking details...
Anyway, all done now!
Unit:
Leader:
Shaman UA:
White Mane:
...I also dug out every painted model I have for the Circle, and totaled up the points.
I was pretty surprised with myself, to be honest!
This is:
Epic Kaya the Moonhunter,
Kromac the Ravenous,
2 Woldwardens,
Woldwatcher,
Woldwyrd,
Pureblood Warpwolf,
Warpwolf,
Gorax,
3 Tharn Wolfriders,
4 Tharn Ravagers,
Tharn Ravager Shaman UA,
Tharn Ravager White Mane,
3 Shifting Stones,
Blackclad Wayfarer,
Sentry Stone + Mannikins, &
Feralgeist.
Total: 1113pts
I'm pretty chuffed, to be honest!

That space marine captain is $^$%£%$%&^%^&$% sick. Have you sold more of your soul to the painting gods? Got your own personnal painting god shrine? The sword is just too good.
Dan

Do my eyes decieve me... or have you actually painted a space marine?I have to agree with Dan, he looks amazing the sword is especially well done. Though, why did you switch from sno to a beach?
Kuffy

Taal looks great - what bits did you use for his chest and shoulder pads?

Cheers everyone, though I think I'm happier with the marbling and the black, myself...
He is composed from:
Terminator Sergeant Storm Shield
Black Reach Captain Power Sword
Black Templar sprue Helmet
FW Red Scorpion Veteran Sergeant Torso and Shoulder Pads
Assault Marine Legs and Jump Pack
Eagle decorations from a Drop Pod
...and a spare Ion Cannon as his 'jumping rock'...
The sand is to match my Tau, and also vaguely to match Kuffys Scions of Ra army, but I think he got it wrong and based his orks different...
The power sword was really just a set of layers, nothing particularly fancy...
I worked from a Midnight Blue/Black mix, up through Regal, into Enchanted, then Ice, then pure white at the end...
The cunning-ish bit is that you work from opposite blade ends on each different surface, so that the 'top' half works towards white at the point, while the 'bottom' half works towards white at the grip.
On a side note, I played with my Cygnar tonight, and loved them, so I'll possibly be working on them next (though I should be trying to plow into my marines, as I've basically squandered my spare month...).

Nice Tharn Ravagers -T, I dunno why you beat yourself up over them and Kromac, they look fantastic to me. Half the reason I wanted to start Circle after dropping the TB's was your models, you make the Circle look gorgous. Let's see if I can, doubt it though >_>

That marine is proper beautiful mate

Thanks to everyone for their comments, always much appreciated.
I'm going up to WHW next weekend to see if I can talk to the 'Eavy Metal team a bit about painting, so I'm kinda trying to prepare for that, and the kind words really help.
On that note, thanks even more to everyone for criticism. While I don't always get around to replying to it, I always take it in, and if I hadn't already thought of it I always think through it, and try to improve for next time.
Thanks a lot, you pedantic lot!
Anyway, on with the update, baby!
I've been working on getting my Cygnar stuff painted, as I keep leaving my Marines around, and I figure that these guys are at least somewhat sci-fi...
In a steampunk way.
Without further faffing...:
Stryker:
Arlan Strangeways:
Squire:
Charger:
...and Wreck Markers:
What does anyone think?
After this, assuming I manage to hold myself in check, I've got my Long Gunners (inc. UA), the Black 13th, eStryker, Ol' Rowdy, Thorn and Aiyanna & Holt yet to go...
I'm pretty sure I'm going to drop out of the 40k ToP, I'm moving in with my GF next week, and I suspect I am just not going to get enough time to get the Sternguard finished...
Bummer, huh?
On the plus side, the Tharn mean I'm about 30 points ahead of my Hordes ToP, so that's pretty cool!
-Tom.
