*DOES THE KUFFEH GETTING FED DANCE*

They look good dude, your blue is really good and strong. The OSL is also pretty damn nifty, though would not another colour have worked better. That said, it is still pretty good. I've never noticed the base, looks cool.

I like the wreaked stuff - I assume its the same as 40K objective markers or destroyed vehicles.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to drop out of the 40k ToP, I'm moving in with my GF next week, and I suspect I am just not going to get enough time to get the Sternguard finished...
    Bummer, huh?
On the plus side, the Tharn mean I'm about 30 points ahead of my Hordes ToP, so that's pretty cool!

    -Tom.
If you get to eavy metal, watch out for Chris Peach. Ive not seen Peachy in ages!

The bases are nice, I like the deep dark colours, but aslo the fact they vary slightly.
The metal work is nice. I also like the chipping on the paint, the dark tone with the highlight underneath works well. I did the same kind of thing with my Tau suits.
I think the highlights on the back of Strykers cloak are to extreme.

You cant give in! You will let Kuffy win!

Good luck with the move. Are you both moving to a new place or are you moving in to her home? Demand a studio room! I am!

We're getting a new place with just us, which is pretty exciting!
Got a space all staked out by a window...
Not enough room for a whole studio, unfortunately, but it'll work out fine.

I agree with you re: Stryker's cloak, I will probably go back and dull them down a little, they need blending in to the rest of the cloak a little more, at least.

Re-thinking my finances and the quality of my most recent work, I don't know about the 'eavy metal trip. If it was in 6 months, and I had notice, I would definitely be going. At the moment, I just don't feel like I have any models finished to my best ability.
I can show them some bits, and know exactly what they will say, 'cos I think it myself...

I'm going to talk it over with some friends and stuff, and see what they think.

Speaking of which, I've decided that I'm going to try and make myself paint one or two models to the best of my ability.
Us Londoners have Salute coming up in a month or so, and I'd really like to win a prize at their painting contest, if I can...

    A few options:
Saxon Orrik, from Hordes (*pic here*, painted very worn and dusty)
A Red Karnagh, from Confrontation (*pic here*, probably the one on the right, painted with very pale skin, and lots of tattoos)
Scratch-built true-scale Marine, probably Alpha Legion, modeled on the guy on the cover of Legion
Aiyanna (*pic here*, the woman, probably trying to paint her half invisible, as that is one of her abilities in-game...).

    Anyone have any thoughts/preferences?

I would do a Karnagh and the true scale marine. They would both look awesome!

I think Aiyanna s the most appealing sculpt in terms of what you could do with freehand brocading on her cloak and that armored skirt thing she wears. The downside is she's physically an absolutely tiny model, not much room to work with. The Rackham one is good too, can't go wrong with lots of bare flesh and tatoos for a show-off piece!

I think Saxon and the Karnah would be great looking models to go to town on.

In regards to the Cygnar stuff, it looks to me like the blue doesn't pop as much as some of your previous stuff. It has the same rich base but the highlights seem toned down (that may be the photos and not the actual models though). Either way, excellent stuff.

I think you should get the marines done if you can. It would be a shame to shelve such a nice looking army before it even gets off the ground.

You already know my thoughts on this, but I like the second option. Tattoos would look great, I'm pretty sure you'd be able to make a great go of it. First real challenge eh? Go for it.

Well since the Confrontation miniatures are pretty much made for entering into painting contests, I'd defiantly go with the Karnagh.
And I do love your Cygnar - very dark and brooding. Defiantly different to the usual Cygnarans you see.

Thanks fellas, the thoughts are very helpful!

I pretty much decided that I'm going to do 3 of my ideas, the Karnagh (see below), Saxon Orrick, and a truescale Marine, 'cos I like all of them.
At the moment, moving house etc has left me somewhat poor, so I'm getting going with the bits I have already.

The Red Karnagh is first on the list, as he's been sitting on my model pile (I think it has now progressed to a pile) for longest...

I've been working on his base, and I'm pretty happy with it.
    Anyway, here he is:

...and with the power of flash, a somewhat jerky video...:

It's not quite finished, it needs a bunch of finessing, but I like the idea of it.
It seems like the guy is guarding the stairway out of hell, to me.
I think I'm going to try some underlighting, or something similar...
