It sounds like a plan, once I find myself in a routine I can become a machine, painting and building squadrons of tanks and infantry in a week or two.

For the two missing legions, my guess is, a custodes and a sister of silence. Id love to make a sisterhood army that resembled somthing like the artwork.

All your stuff is great, as usual.

I'm tempted to leap recklessly towards the truescale bandwagon (though knowing me I'll fall short and break something). How tall do your marines stand?

I haven't actually measured one, to be honest.
I will do so, and get back to you (the Fist is currently in pieces for painting, and the WE is in the cabinet in my GW...)!

The two missing legions will most definitely be represented by marines, so the Sisters and the Custodes are out, I'm afraid...
As I have two ideas, maybe I'll do one of each.
    Seems to make sense.

PS. Had an awesome multiplayer Hordes game today, it was an absolute blast. It also made me long for painting units of 10 and thinking that was huge, as the 20 half painted guardsmen looking accusingly at me are starting to wear me down...

Wow, he looks really good, -t. I hope you will have a few done for the LO meet so we can get to see them in "the flesh".

Well, it has been a while hasn't it...?

I have not been idle, but it seems everything I've been touching recently is destined to take 3x longer than I plan for...
    Urgh.

Anyway, these little fellas were fun to paint, but got somewhat ruined by varnish, which sucks.

As far as armies go, I'm also about 2/3rds of the way through my Cygnaran Long Gunner unit, which have been driving me insane. No pics yet, but I do want to hunt down and murder whoever sculpted them.
    Too many different fabrics...

The guard are slowly but surely getting somewhere too, so I'm reasonably happy about that.

I also have a Mordhiem warband about half done, working on the heros at the moment (henchmen are done). Get to use some cool stuff, as we've written rules for chaos warriors etc etc.
    Quite fun so far.

I also painted this fella up for my friend, who is moving to whales next week.
Bit of a farewell gift, I guess...:

    Whatcha think?
C&C welcome as per ususal... =)

Wow, that Gaspy looks really, really good. Love the cloak, armour and OSL.

Yeah I can really see what the varnish did to those Circle-dudes, especially the Druid. A shame. I know how it is, had a finished Irusk completely ruined by varnish last year. Just strip and re-paint (which I haven't gotten around to yet).

Fantastic work as always, T. I particularly like how you've turned the arc markers on the base into runes. Consider that idea stolen

Pardon me if I've asked this before, or if you've said before, but what's your formula for basic flesh? I'm really liking the clean, realistic look you've been doing of late.

Utterly loving the Cryx dude! The metals and greens work well to my (half dead) eyes.

Your friends moving in with some whales eh? Well I guess drainage won't be a problem and there will be good sightseeing.

Looking forward to seeing the Mordhiem warband!

You may have mentioned it before in this thread, but what are the symbols painted onto the base for? are they unit markings or just a flair of individuality?

It's been quite changeable lately, but something I'm fond of is:
    Scorched Brown
    Dark Flesh
    Bleached Bone/Dark Flesh/Scorched Brown (about at 6/3/1)
Then a very very light wash of Catachan Green and Glaze Medium (lots of glaze medium)
Then highlight by mixing in more Bleached Bone to that last mix.

The green needs to be really understated, all it does is help take the red out of the lower layers, and make it a bit more 'fleshy'...

The markings on the side of the bases show the front and back arcs of the model, which shows what the model can see, in-game.
The fancy bits just make them look a bit prettier.

    *is not impressed*

Bah. I do not see guard, or marines. Why? EH?! WHHHHYYYYY!!

Otherwise, they're pretty damn good. I like the big ol' skellie looking guy, and its a shame about those others - the varnish problem is quite evident. =/
