    Well, seeing as you asked what we think... I think the shield on the Stormclad looks like a gigantic hat, at present. It will probably look fine when painted and I shouldn't even have bothered to mention it.

    The wolf looks cool, loving that super-shiny sword. And the reposed Kara is also awesome - you wouldn't happen to have any pictures of her reposed form unprimed, would you, so we can see how you did it and steal your idea?

    Rabbit; Our Tau community has the talent of figuring out how to turn a feather into a timebomb. Macgyver would be jealous.
    8people; Honey, why is my fluffwars story your shopping list?

    Wow, I'm really digging the paintjob on the Stalker, he looks much more menacing than he does in the PP studio photos. I think it's a combination of the darker fur and the angle he's been photographed from. He's one of those models that looks a bit 'off' in official photos, but not so bad once you get a better look at him. Regardless, great job!

    I also quite like both of your Cygnar conversions. I play Cygnar myself, but I've never used the Stormclad because I dislike the model. I may have to attempt something similar in the future, as mounting the Stormclad head, sword and shield on the plastic kit does actually make it look sufficiently rad. Can't wait to see it (and Kara) painted up!

    On a somewhat related note, have you played any games with Kara? If so, how have you found her? I've yet to actually try her out myself, but she does look like a lot of fun.

    Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated =)

    Sadly I don't have any shots of Kara un-undercoated, but basically:
    Cut the gun arm off at the elbow, leaving the mechanical elbow joint on the gun side;
    Cut her other arm out from her waist (the only bit I managed to salvage was the forearm, again keeping the mechanical elbow joint if you can, but removing the hand as cleanly as possible), removing the 'frilly' bit of shoulder pad too;
    Run a pin through the left arm, pretty much the whole way through the forearm;
    Again, pin the gun arm, and attach it to the stump on her shoulder at a 'shooty' angle;
    Glue the pinned left arm into the left shoulder (leaving about 4mm of pin between the shoulder and the forearm), and add a very small lump of green-stuff to where the hand is, and bend the arm up so it is in place to 'hold' the gun, with the GS just hitting the gun grip;
    Wait for it all to dry, then use GS to touch up any unsightly areas on the right (gun) arm, her waist, and make a tube around the pin of the left arm;
    Again, once it's all cured, carefully cut details into the upper left arm (see her right arm for direction), and put a small (really small!) blob of GS where her hand needs to be;
    Flatten the hand GS, and carefully scribe detail into it using a sharp scalpel, then take some of the excess and carefully create a thumb on the other side of the gun;
    Finally, once all that is dry, clean up the hand using a scalpel, and you're all done!

    It seems a lot more complicated than I remember by writing it down...

    I've played with her a bit, and I've found her pretty cool. My main worry is that she's quite dull to play against, as she is *very* shooty...
    She has been pretty effective so far though, at 35 I've been using:
    Kara
    +Stormclad (decent gun, very solid melee beatstick, I've tended to throw him into any enemy heavies that venture too close)
    +Defender (duh!)
    +Charger (the double shot potential is awesome with her feat, setting off two extra shots from other minis, and he's great at solo hunting)
    Reinholdt (free shot with Kara, yay!)
    Arlan Strangeways (pretty essential IMO, giving repairs against annoying limb destruction, free focus (normally for the defender or charger), or immunity to freestrikes once things get a bit too hairy)
    The Black 13th (just plain mean)
    6 Rangers (solid unit on their own, especially when giving out +2s for ranged attack rolls, making even shooting into melee not such a problem...)
    6 Trenchers (again, another solid unit, and they make quite a scary roadblock with smoke, then assaulting once close enough)

    I'm gonna be painting a Scythean for my commissions next, then I'm gonna have a crack at the Stormclad (and a Cyclone and Defender that also need some loving).

    Thanks for that, -t. I had tried to edit my post to say I shouldn't be so lazy and should try to figure out my own way of doing it, but I tend to do things the most difficult and awkward way possible so your little guide might help if I ever give some Kara conversion a try!

    Your to-do list sounds like it will be a lot of fun to see. Happy painting!

    Wowsers, less than a month later and I finally finish the Scythean commision I've been working on...
    I reversed the PP studio scheme as far as tones go, but kept the colours the same, so we have a blue-black carapace, and a brownish-white skin... I quite enjoyed painting him, but certainly wouldn't want to do an army of them... Too damn annoying.

    What do you guys reckon?

    I'm onto my Cygnar jacks next, and quite looking forward to them. I am also vaguely planning to finally paint my Space Hulk box in the near future, as some friends and I have started playing through the missions and have remembered how awesome it is. Good times!

    It's great to know that even if you go away for a while, -t is still here working his ass off producing great looking mini's. Well done man.

    Nice looking Scythean, and looking forward to the Cygnar 'jacks. I'm really struggling not to buy the new plastic battlebox and I don't imagine your 'jacks will help me any.

    I really like the way the carapace has come out, the scratches and scrapes look really good! As does the blood around the mouth - hopefully he's not hungry any more!

    Hope the Cygnar jacks go well - I look forward to seeing those!

    Nicely done on the last two pages. However, doesn't the last model look like a size zero carnifex with those lictor arms coming out his back?
    Superior stamina may win battles, but the ability to quickly recover wins wars.

    Good gods. This is looking bad for me when YOU of all people have more painted minis than I do. Sad indeed...

    This fellow looks great, nice choice of colours.

    Btw. Where are the 'Nids?
