Alright, so a few of you have helped me decide on my army, and now I decided that I want to start posting pictures of it on here, so I can hopefully get advice and make my army better looking!
The overall theme of my army is autumn, using lots of reds, oranges with gold on top, and gold in a few spots. I also wanted my army to have a night time/ dark feel to it so I started using blacks on the spots where I originally used brown for leather.
On the bases, I just decided that I wanted a darker look, so I started painting the dirt black, and then doing a dry brush of white over that. I also use grass flock
My dryads are the only models besides my treeman that I attempted using layering and so I hopefully will try to do them on some of my human models.
My waywatchers a scouts will probably be the only models in my army that have green on them (besides my treeman on his mossy stuff)
Anywho I wont be able to post pictures on here until the weekend, so you will be able to see what I have done then!

I know from Experiance that red can be very hard to paint so Id base with foundation mixed with a bit of dark coulors(ie. chaos black, scorched brown) then for highlight use foundation with light paint sounds preety simple
but of course if you rally want to take you time and have a faboulas looking army I'd do what Davidvc04
Here are some of the guys I painted
hehe sorry about the pictures and how you gotta click on them. I will try to get more pictures up when I can, although I haven't had too much time to paint lately (School and rowing started up recently) What I showed is 1 of each of the models I have painted so far. (I have yet to start a waywatcher or wild rider yet, my current project are my glade riders) Also I haven't use any varnishes or sprays on my guys, I might try hair spray or something later on.
Well poor on the advice for me, and I will try to take more angles because I probably should have let you seen the back on the models too.
Also one last thing. I am trying to use one of my extra glade guard as a bsb, but I don't know what to do about the banner, if it would be okay if I used the one with the two spites on top because I kind of like it, or if I should just completely try to customize a flag. (I made a pretty neat base for him using some corks and folliage for making trees to make him stand out)
very nice kwike the skin on the glade guard is a very nice elfy tone and the Drycha's wood skin stuff?? is graet to.
keep up the good work
These guys look pretty solid for your first attempts! My only suggestion would be to add another highlight to the skin/bark of the Dryads. The gray looks a little flat to me but you could fix it quickly by adding a slightly brighter and thinner highlight to it.
Show us some more!
Hehe taking pictures shows a lot of things I never really noticed before (like how i painted one of the glade guards fingers black, and a few other parts where I got black on stuff where it doesnt belong), but I think I'll wait till I finish more guys before I go back and start trying to finish some of the details (hopefully by that time I will be better at painting!)
for highlighting my dryads, what would you suggest would be a good color for that, just white or a lighter gray?
and for doing washes on my forest spirits, what color would you recommend? I have the wash starter kit, so I have black, blue, purple. red, brown, flesh, sephia? and some other stuff . Also, would I want to have the washes watered down a lot so they might not over take the grey/white. (I was originally kind of going for a kind of dead look for the trees minus the treeman which i originally intended that but he came out healthyish)
Also on the particular dryad I took it doesnt really show some of the stuff I tried to be fancy about (attempts at layering that my friend was showing me how to do) For the dryads I started with a shadow grey base coat, then put some spots of greens and browns across the models, and purple on the under sides of different parts for an attempt at shadowing) I then just ended up doing dry brushing ontop of that because at the time I didn't know if you watered down paint it wouldn't completely cover everything.
