I haven't stopped but its really difficult to photograph mini's here since I have to use natural sunlight.

Anyway here is a human sorceror and some Ultramarines.

Not sure whats next, I painted the Space Marines for the GW store guy, so I apologise for the state of the mini's I didn't glue them together. Maybe he will give me some more mini's to paint, I might have to buy something though.

Thought that I would post the miniature that I picked up when I dropped off the Ultra Marines.

Hey dude. The fae on the Necromancer/Death Wizard looks real nice however the skulls look a little unfinished. Are you going to paint them up to white or leave them that brown colour?

Tau boy looks ok but it's hard to tell with the pic. From the pic it looks like you need to do a few more highlights on the Red and Skin bu,as I said, that's probably the pic.

Cheers Borak, the Tau guy is a long way from done, the skin definitely needs work at the moment it is just the one colour, I was experimenting with my limited palette to see if I could get the right Blue, By mixing Black, white and Mordian Blue. I think its alright. I will have another look at the cloak though cos that part was supposed to be finishedish, a bit of tidying up and maybe some trims and stuff to add.

The Skulls are supposed to look golden but they are not done quite right and I need to go back and redo them or just go up to white. The photo did steal a few of the highlights but mostly they do look too flat.

Ah right, were you going for a NMM on the skulls then? I'm hopeless at that sort of thing!!

On Tau boy. Yeah I couldn't tell about the skin lol. The front of him didn't look highlighted but his hands on the back pic did look highlighted so I just blamed the Pic!! The Gold/armour looks really nice though.

Did a bit more today but left my computer at school so can't upload the photos. Will tomorrow.

As to the feeble NMM, I only have the starter set of paint colours + Blood Red and Ultramarine Blue, so no Gold paint. Silvers are all being done with metallics (only have chainmail but have black and white so thats heaps) Golds are all NMM, but only have Black-Calthan Brown-Iyanden Darksun-White, so finding the right blends is being difficult, starting to get there though and its good fun.

If anyone has any suggestions for random minis that they think I might like let me know.

The highlights on the skin were bits I had rubbed the paint off.

Thanks for the feedback Borak. As to your being hopeless at NMM, the work you produce is fantastic man, NMM or Metallic aside I love seeing the new minis and stuff you post it can be very inspiring, or depressing depending on my day.

You did all that with just a starter set? Bloody Hell that is some serious mixing!! Why don't you just go and buy some Dwarf Bronze??


Cheers for the praise dude I really am hopeless at NMM though. I just don't get it!!! I follow the guides to the T and it still looks like Brown highlighted up to yellow. although I've seen some of the 'eavy Metal NMM models up close and they look brown and yellow as well so maybe it's just the technique. I dunno People make it look fantastic on the pics though.

You're 31 and you go to School? I sure hope you're a teacher of some sort and don't just break in.

Ok another quick update



A little bit more Gold (Brown and Yellow) and the flesh is a bit better now, probably still needs more highlights.

As to being 31 and at school, whats so bad about being a 13th year 6th form, mum says I am a special boy. Tidied up the text a bit as well.

I think NMM is a bit like that street art stuff, from the right angle in the right light it looks awesome, otherwise it just looks like nice blending but a little weird.

Yeah that's pretty much my thinking on NMM. It's for photo's in Mags/Interwebs and not for anything else really.

He's coming along nicely dude. The gold looks real nice in that pic, the blending is top notch. The skin could probably do with another highlight just to pic out the details like wrinkles etc. Any plans for his weapon yet?


There's nothing wrong with being in 6th form for 13 years. Just as long as the Teachers know you're on the grounds.
