It looks really nice mate. All the colours wok together and unlike a lot of Eldar models it doesn't look like an explosion in a paint factory.

To be honest the 'glass' was quite cloudy and didn't look all that great so I probably would have done the same. One thing I might do though is paint the window frames that Yellow colour you have on the hull. As it stands the frame and window just blend into one.

Free hand is awesome too. Rep for you Sir.

I was loving it right up until you painted the windows

I realise they were pretty foggy but couln't you have "bitzed" some replacements off've the 'net?

Seems a shame. Maybe you could paint the panes. silver (with a touch of blue wash)...

Very nice progress you've been doing lately, Allonairre! The NMM on the Ethereal is top notch, and as others stated the blending on the gay pride thing-ahem, the Falcon is great. I have to second that the canopy doesn't look right though... Either way, have some well-earned rep!

    Cheers,
    LS

Been a bit slack lately with my updates, mostly because I am feeling a bit guilty about the Falcon. You guys are all right that something needs to be done with the canopies but I haven't touched it since I posted the pics of it. Therefore I haven't wanted to post here so I don't have to explain my slacking.

I have started on the jetbikes and not gotten very far and picked up a Dark Eldar to paint for a lazy entry into a 'Pirates' theme painting competition.

I chose more traditional 'sailor' colours for it but not sure that I really like it, I might go back and paint it black after the competition possibly. I was thinking that I could add white stripes to the t-shirt. I am not very happy with the skin, with only the one flesh tone I am battling a bit to get the tones and stuff right, anyway enough excuses.

So I have got to get this finished and will do some work on my secret santa, need to get the miniature. I would also like to paint a few of the new Necrons, I want to see if I can sell the stuff that I paint since I am not really doing anything with it and they seem like a good place to start from as they will have a bit of interest at the moment.

Apart for the face that looks very nice (the head looks very long and narrow), btw to better looking pictures use something called gimp, their is a setting on it which will automatically adjust the brightness and everything

@HappyJim : Is that just a program that I can download? At the moment I do all the 'editting' Crop and resize in photoshop's editor which is alright. It also has a one button fix thing that adjusts brightness and stuff. I used to use one where I could select the area that I wanted to be white but I am not sure where that has gone.

@dan jones: Cheers, I have finally painted the frames on the windows and it looks a bit better now will repost pics in a few days maybe.

    The Wych/Succubus is going alright

As usual C&C welcome, I am not sure how to make the face look less long although I am sure that it is possible.

Thanks for the link there HappyJim, downloaded it but can't install it on my work computer so I will have to keep on doing the best that I can with the Photo-Bucket editor. My computer does have an image editing suite on it but I haven't bothered to figure it out. I should probably just play round with that it is probably a good editor.

My Wych/succubus won the painting competition though so that was pretty cool. I didn't get anything but still it was nice to win.

It was the stores Birthday as well and I got given my entry in the joust which was a savage orc on a Bretonian horse. So that is what I will paint this week pretty skint at the moment.

I did paint some of that jouster guy but just couldn't really get into it beyond the horse. I will go back to the orc at some point when I have some green paint I guess, although I think that I will use the Orc as a model that I can learn to paint rust on, it seems appropriate.

I haven't been totally idle though I have painted my secret santa mini and I like it who cares what the recipient thinks about it really. In spite of saying that I sent it before christmas however I never actually made it to the post office, so that is a job for the morning. I am really nervous about sending it to be honest the posties here don't inspire confidence.

I have also painted up a Necron Overlord, originally he was to see if I could sell my stuff online but I am not sure that many people would be that interested, anyway here are some of the finished shots of the necron.

Hope you like him, it won the second painting competition at the store, woo hoo for lack of entrants really. The next theme is a squad, I am trying to get inspired to paint the unit of eldar jetbikes I got off e-bay but am really battling with the motivation for them at the moment. Also trying to work on a piece for a competition on the Platoon Britanicca site, the guys over there are freakishly talented painters though so I am struggling with that a bit as well.

As always thanks for the feedback, hopefully I can get back to regular painting and posting again in the new year.

Merry Christmas everybody hope next year is even better than the previous for you all.
    Cheers Allonairre
