Rep Power: 48 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Excitingly, the results have come through, woohoo! It appears I dramatically over counted the amount of people playing 40k, but I'm happy to report that I placed 8th out 39 players, which I am really very pleased with. Not bad for a first tourni, I'll have to keep it up for next time. More relevant for this painting thread, I got 29/30 for my painting score. Again, I'm absolutely over the moon with that - there were two judges so one gave the DA full marks and the other gave them 1 point off. Who am I to argue. Anyway, I'm going to stop blowing my own trumpet now - it's so very un-British Now that I've have my scores I'm working on my tourni report, so look out for that in the next few days. Cheers! |

Hey all, can you believe that I actually have an update!! Although I have been deathly quiet on the forum of late, thankfully my painting has not suffered so. Since I last posted I have finished off my last Deathwing squad, as well as completing the second tactical squad and Rhino. This leaves me only two Land Raiders and a Dread. short of reaching the 3000pts target that I had set myself. However, with the start of the new Tale of Painters, I'm going to be switching my focus to the Imperial Guard, so I can't see the last 3 models being done any time soon. Hopefully they will be a nice treat when I'm tired of painting IG! Anyway, as we all know, without pictures it didn't really happen. So here is a really poor qualilty shot of my completed 2000pts army, at a recent tournament (more pictures of which can be seen here). When I can get my hands on a decent camera, hopefully in the next few days, I will be doing proper shots of the completed units. I hope this pic will do for now! Cheers guys! Well, I've finally found a digital camera I can borrow, and this means I can show you the progress I've had in the last few months. First up is the Deathwing Squad that you saw as a WiP a few months ago. I recently found the time to finish off my 'wing collection, and I'm very proud of them! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Doesn't that last photo just look cool! Though I can't believe I missed the time stamp. And, while we are looking at it, how horrifically out of date is it... *goes to fiddle with camera*... You can also see below a picture of my whole Deathwing collection, a feat that has taken god knows how many hours to achieve. Apologies for the rubbish pic, I really must build a light box! ![]() This signals the end of my Deathwing painting for the foreseeable future. That said, I have just pre-ordered Space Hulk, and if those Blood Angels Termis are easily converted, I can see them making superb reinforcements ... Next up, when I get a bit more time to post, will be my new Tactical Squad, Rhino and the painted objective markers. Let me know what you think guys! Nice mate!! You've been very productive with your time. The deathwing look great. Im sure you're glad you don't have to paint anymore bone armour I'm excited about space hulk too. Unfortunately my wallet isn't up to it so i'll have to miss out. Anyway, i'm sure there will be a fair few people with the sets so I might just get a go at it. Those termies will look great if the were Deathwing-ified. Congratulations on completing a mega-fine army! Repitty Rep! Cheers Knight

@Sknight567 - Many thanks mate, and your right, I'm very glad to be done with Bone painting for a while! Its a shame you wont be able to pic up space hulk - I would love to see you paint up those terminators. I hope you can get some second hand at some point... @xbanditsx - Cheers dude! I maintain that it was your comments that made me go back and highlight the Deathwing, so thanks again for that Quote:
Mostly straightforward work on these, although greenstuffing the tread for the marine took a little effort, especially as I'm not a fan of green stuffing. I keep on meaning to work up the courage to try and freehand a chaos star on the black helmet, but so far I haven't managed it. Soon though... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've got to say that making objective markers is not something I originally planned on doing but, now that I have, it is certainly something I'll be doing again! It adds another level of story to all the games you play, as well as looking very cool. I even find myself hoping we will roll up objective games, even though my DA are far better at kill points! Cheers guys... | |
