First off, thanks again for all the comments people. Quote:
I'll admit that what I submitted to ToP this month could have been better, those highlights are sorely missed. I will be honest, after spending about 15 odd hours on each Termi to get the bleached bone right I get sick of the sight of them for a while! However, fear not, I think I'm going to play a tactical joker next month. This will give me some time to sort the Terminators properly and, more interestingly, finish my Belial conversion. Pics of that hopefully sometime soon! I doubt I'll get much time on LO over the next few weeks so I'll take this opportunity to say: Merry Christmas! I hope you all have a good holiday.

Loving the look of those termies! How'd you get that bone armour so crisp looking? I've not got my terms in my ToP list (too expensive) but I have got 15 sat in my case (along with countless other stuff!!) to paint at some point so any tips would be a bonus! Also really interested to see what your Belial conversion would be like (I might appropriate some of your ideas possibly!) as i'm still formulating a plan of action for mine!

Hey Soviet, well first off Merry Christmas to you to mate . Yeah The missing Highlight is what is letting down the models which are awesome but just unfinished. so yeah play the Joker get some time and finish them up. They will be awesome when you are done . so Don't loose faith and motivation it's going to be Fine . I'll probably have the same problem after painting every dryad in my army. so matey all in all it's great work so take the time you need to finish it and you will have one cool army on your hands!!! Cheers Jayz |

Updates, get your updates here! Quote:
It normally takes about 5/6 coats, which is why the process takes so long. I have since found faster methods, but I intend to stick to mine as I like the results. I just hate doing it! In other news: I hope everybody had a great crimbo, and has a relaxing few days ahead of them. I had quite a successful day in GW terms, and to prove it here is my haul: Besides the books (that I'm really looking forward to reading) there are some great goodies for my DA. Obviously there are the absolutely lovely Terminator Chaplin & Forge World Dread, some of my favourite models out there. These are going kept as a reward for finishing ToP, as I'm going to want to spend some time on both of them. However, the star of today's post will be the combined contents of the two larger boxes. Now then, how could any good Dark Angels player combine a Land Raider and a Vindicator. Hmmm...... Anybody who guessed a Land Raider Ares can award themselves a point! Whoever came up with the idea of mounting a Demolisher cannon onto the Land Raider chassis deserves a Medallion Crimson for sure! And its a Dark Angels specific variant to boot. Perfect! Anyway, after a few hours of trimming and sawing I have this first draft: Now its mostly held together with blue tack at this stage but I think I have the basic concept down. For the sponson flamers I'm planning on cutting down the Redeemers cannons. This is going to be a slow burning project. I want to actually have a DA army painted before looking at this properly, but I couldn't resist putting it together. I'll probably finish the building soon and then shelve it for a while before painting. Anyway, I would love to hear what you all think...

Very nice stuff! This just might inspire my bud to finish up his dark angels. Maybe its just my sugar-addled brain, but those termies look edible.. just like white and milk-chocolate.. with creamy goodness inside.. ![]() *goffs down more christmas chocolates* Rep for you! |
