Welcome to Librarium Online!
So I just decided I'd start painting a Nurgle Lord on Daemonic Mount that I've had built and sitting in my basement for... 2 years?
The model itself isn't fantastic (I'm not great with green stuff, and it was built a while ago, so I didnt feel like tampering with it), so there are some gaps in between the model where it was glued and such.
So yea, here are some shots after about an hour and a half of painting. It's not nearly done, but it's a good start.
Hope the resolution came out ok.
As a note, I'm painting this Lord alot darker than my old army. I don't really like my old color scheme (too bright for chaos in my opinion).
Here are some shots of some models I painted way back when, to show what I'm trying to avoid.
I may end up redoing the exalted champion, but we'll see how the Lord goes.
wicked brother. does look just a tad bright for nurgle though imo, but tis your models ^^
Yea, I have a unit of warriors (the old crazy ones you could actually repose) half done in those terrible bright colors too. Debating repainting them or starting fresh with the new ones.
I like the darker, duller colors of the mounted lord though. mmm nurgle.
Oh, here are a couple more shots of the lord. Shows some better detailing on the horse and such.
I also want to find a better set of colors to contrast between the skull of the horse and the skin of the horse. There is a tiny difference at the moment, but maybe I'll make the skull a more brown color. Who knows.
nice. Have you thought perhaps using a mix of bone and rotting flesh, heavier on the rotting to help distinguish. Just a suggestion
I'll look into that, I'm just worried the rotting flesh will blend with the rest of the horse.
Also, I need to decide what colors to do the mane, tail, hooves and horns. I'm thinking black hoofs with grey highlights. For the mane/tail, I really don't want to use a brown... but I guess I may have to.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
For the mane i would think probably a brown, but and i only suggest this in cases like these somewhat thick and blotchy, as if the horse was raised from the dead and had matted hair. with mabye a touch of grey here and there. Hope this helps ^^
Sweet, thanks for the advice. I like the matting idea.
I think I'm gonna use this thread to keep track of my ToP army.
The lord will be part of my first entry.
No problem, i never concidered nurgle an army that carries a comb and shampoo
and roger that, cant wait to see more from you ^^ feel free to give criticisms on my Knights Illuminati WIP =P
