Red Scorpion WIP

Alright so finally found a camera that works(while not very well), so here is what i have so far for my red scorpion army.
Paint scheme;
Tactical squads:
50/50 Codex Gray/Chaos Black
Highlight with codex
Iyanden darksun(sp?) on the trim with a small highlight
skull white
mechrite red + highlight
they will all have squad marking and roman numeral on knee pad over a yellow stipe
Sergeant will have red helmet

Veteran Squads:
50/50 Codex Gray/Chaos Black
Highlight with codex
Red helmets and trim(instead of the yellow)
rest is the same only red instead of yellows

Vehicles:
50/50 Codex Gray/Chaos Black
Highlight with codex
yellow stripe at front and back
chapter symbols on sides

Comand units:
50/50 Codex Gray/Chaos Black
Highlight with codex .75/black .25 then codex
yellow shoulder pads with red trim(not sure yet)
not sure what else on these

The start of my newest HQ. He will be my librarian. Im thinking of small bolts of lightning out his hands.

The 4 tactical marines ive started painting


And my 10 sternguard. The one jumping over the rubble is alittle out of place but i thought it was a fun conversion. Custom combi flamers in there somewhere haha.


The one in the middle has a silencer. And theres one more not picture with a combi-melta. The armless and unprimed stern above will have a custom combi melta.


This guy may be changed to have a storm shield or different weapon. Has relic blade + bolt pistol now. He will also get shrikes jump pack but converted up to have a scorpions stinger instead of the bird head.


YAY! expensive dreadnought and commander. Brother painted that one. he did very well compared to his normal stuff.


This guy could be used as sicarius or just a captain.


Family photo! ...all of it so far. There are also 2 land speeders with typhoon missile launchers and a drop pod.


Ok so thats that.. Actually i forgot to take pictures of the 15 terminators(20 soon) so i will get pics up in a day or 2. They all need tabards greenstuffed on to them. Only one is primed with the tabard on him, the rest need work.

The librarian is getting all his terminator leg work filled in and the armour plates green stuffed to his armour. The spear hes holding is from the new chaos knights sprue(thank you GW manager).

Lovely models there. I think the black should be acutally dark grey? But still nice models, nice smooth conversions.

Dear All Concerned,

As dan said, very nice job! But I have to agree, I believe a light grey drybrush over top the black, or even just painting a dark grey would fit the models better...


Can't wait to see more models!

Most of them are only primed at the moment so they are black. The 4 that have their shoulders outlined are base coated 50/50 codex and chaos. So a dark grey. The one sternguard jumping over rubble is also base coated the 50/50 mix.

Ya i try to make everything look as natural as possible when converting legs and poses. Drives my girlfriend nuts when i walk/run around her room to see how my body moves. Then i pose with one foot on the bed to see how i would hold my arms and such.

The ones you painted are looking good! The conversions are simple but really effective, good work!

Heres the terminators including commander culln without his shoulder pads on. I have 19 terms here(20 with culln) not sure where the body im missing went...

The black one is the first one i have finished building. They all need the tabard he has on him. This was the first attempt so the sest will look more natural and less like wavy cardboard.



The one in the middle looks the coolest to me. love the pose.


The last picture of all of them. Didnt take pictures other than this of most shooty and the lightning claw terminators cause they are all boring and the same.


Tabards are gonna take a long time to make, and i added the little seal in the upper corner no hide them. I like how it turned out just have to make them more flowing and natural looking.

Your modelling work is not metal, but it is really good. Very neat and stylish!

This willl be a great army if you sort out the grey then it will be awesome!

Supposed to be a big drop pod battle at my GW today but cant decide if i should be in it or keep working on these. I'd like to get what i have here done before moving on and buying more... And i will need more to play anything bigger than 1000 points games. (technically i can go 2k but thats with 20 terminators..).

So i think i will let someone else control my drop pod and tactical squad while i build the other squad, green stuff some terminators and maybe do a little painting on the completed one.
