My friend requested that I make him a Grey Knight army (1500 pts) from Plastic Space Marine models.
He is supplying me with the models and materials I would need, and all I do is the actual converting and painting.
This is very good for me as I am in 50AUD debt with him and he offered to clear me of that if I do this for him.
So I took the deal.
Okay. So here are some ideas:
Shave off the rebreather up to the ear-piece and GS the flat GK rebreather onto the faceplate.
Shave off the Iconography (aquilas and such) and add many purity seals.
Repose into offensive running poses.
Use 2 Bolters to model a storm bolter for each marine somehow...
Use bolter holding arm repositioned holding a brass rod with a blade shaped from sprue on the end.
Any more ideas? Any help?
sounds good, i'd really like to see some pics, i'm thinking off getting some grey knights for my Dark Angels Army and I might consider making them out of normal marines. Sounds like alot of work.
Add me! Let me know your forum name too! =)
Why don't you use the normal GK marines? They look great as they are.
Firstly, Sknight.......It's as they say.... Great minds think alike.
I have about 1800 points of Dark Angels with about 1500 Allied Grey Knights.
And Indigo, It's because Plastic Space Marines are alot cheaper, won't scratch as easy, are considerably lighter and will have a great deal of personality about them as they have all been converted.
An army like this will really scream the owner's name when played.
Also for the thrill of cutting up so many space marines (30 to be precise) and then putting them back together.
Anyone have any ideas on how I could model Storm Bolters out of regular bolters? I tried and failed once. I don't wanna waste another two bolters now. Anyone help?

A bit of an update here. I have started painting the Land Raider and putting together one of the Dreadnoughts.
I have finished painting one side of the LR and this is what the rest of it will look like:
I have remodeled the Dreadnought's' right leg to stand on what will be a Chaos Dreadnought Missile Launcher:
And this is what the Grand Master looks like so far: Will have a Daemonhammer and the other hand will have a Psycannon.
