Hey guys and girls
I guess I should introduce myself again since I've been away from the forums for ages.
So yeah, I'm Brother Tiberius (Or Chris whichever really.) a student at Derby University.
I'm currently studying Criminology with Forensic Science and loving every second.
I'm a hardcore 40k player but as of late It has been sooo boring to play, as my local GW is just full of people who, relatively, and nicely speaking, aren't that fun to play.
So i've decided to make myself a new, converted and Warriors of Chaos Army.
With the release of the new models I must say I have definitely fallen in love. The sort of "chunkyness" of the models just scream hardcore chosen chaos maniacal crazy warriors! (now thats a mouthfull haha) and thats everything I've ever wanted from an army!
So how am i going to do this then? - well if i've learnt anything during this fickle hobby it's this: never buy everything together in bulk. When i started my Black Templars it actually put me off painting them... I mean having 150 marines on your paint station sitting there not only needing to be painted but based as well. Well it does something to a man lol.
no this is going to be a buy one unit, build/convert, paint, base and repeat job I think.
Now i hope some of you guys will no of my converted nurgle army (40k) and this is where the questions start and I hope i will get more than a few answers and some subscribers who will keep me going on this most ambitious of projects (hey I'm a student! do you realise how little "me" time i have? - i mean in between drinking )
What mark should I go for?
I hate Khorne with a passion. The idea of leading an army I'm not really controlling just angers me.
Slaanesh is interesting but I don't like pink colour schemes nor purple. - maybe an alternative colour would work?
Nurgle - Theres alot of room for conversion - but i've done alot of 40k work with nurgle. Hmm..
Tzeentch - (sp?) Ok so heres something i'm very interested in! - Change! - love it... love the concept.
Hmmm.... what i'm in need of is some hardcore inspiration! - so tomorrow i'm going to buy the codex/army book whatever you want to call it. It's a book ain't it? and have a look at it. But when i get back to my computer! - I expect some brainstorming going on!
So as I have started my Project I have Realised that many people have started up various Warriors of Chaos Project!
So I have decided to add a link to everyones WoC blog/log that I have taken ideas from! - For the Collective minds of many will always make my Army a lot more interesting and hopefully incourage the Comments and Criticism we all need to improve!
So here is what I have found.
Dfreds WoC "The Blessed of the Four" - A guy who fancied a change of pace from his Tomb Kings and interestingly is doing the complete opposite of myself.. buying in bulk.
http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ml#post1347974 (Dfred's WoC "The Blessed of the Four")
Squints' WoC WIP Newbtacular - Someone who feels he is a noob because he/she has not been in the hobby for some years. I'm loving the can-do attitude and am particularly looking forward for the painting to commence.
http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...wbtacular.html (Squints' WoC WIP Newbtacular)
Morden's Nurgle Blog - I'm absolutly loving the inguineuty and thinking from this guy. The models are being churned out and I can't see this not being an impressive army to look upon when it's completed. http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...rgle-blog.html (Morden's Nurgle Blog)
Thank you people of LO - lets make the next couple of months a great time! - and lets make an army we can all be proud of! =]

ofcourse you can paint slaanesh armies without a single drop of pink if you so choose.
although, she who thirsts, will eventually sway you.....
purples, bright greens, silver and gold, or even gloss black, dun' matter none.
Basically, ask yourself,
"how would a vain, narcissistic, adrenaline junkie of a chaos warrior paint his armour?"
Tzeentch... Regal and bold colours, ive only seen different blue and purple together with gold trimmings, to be honest.
Looks good though.
Hey Bro Tib! Thabnks for the message, and good to see you back And yes, its an Army Book
Think ill try and follow your project and try to learn a bit about WoC myself, tbh ive pretty much ignored them since their release.
Furthermore, im scared that the new BoC book will put me off them lol
Hey Phoenix =] No problem about the message! I missed the forum way to much!
I have been doing some research - your basic reading around.. fluff, user made fluff. The basic stuff i guess.
Then I headed over to coolminiornot.com to check out some mini's etc. And I found an amazing model by an Artist called Jarhead.
Just to Clarify:
I DID NOT PAINT THE FOLLOWING MINIATURE
If I can manage that purple I think Slaanesh may be on the cards.
I have whittled down my choices to:
Slaanesh and Nurgle.
Now I'm off to purchase myself the WoC book and look at clothes ¬_¬ sigh Girlfriends! anyway! ciao for now!
I will be interested aye?
Come onto my visitor messages and disturb my slumber to tell me about the evil WoC....
Yeah I am interested
I can offer list design advice, and perhaps fluff advice, as I have been playing warhammer for a little while. I like the idea of doing it section by section, but don't rule out massed purchases if you can get a bargain.
I would also find a couple of friends with armies you can proxy lists with, so you can play some games to practice your army shape, allowing you to save money, by not purchasing units that will be useless to you.
PM me for any info, or just ask in here.
So i visited my Local Games workshop which was of course teeming full of little Saturday newbies! - It's great to see loads of people getting into the hobby.
So I purchased the WoC Army book and I must say the fluff looks very interesting but I won't be reading it until I go to Girlfriends Dad's house tomorrow night (give me something to do I guess)
I'm falling in love again with Nurgle but I don't want to go there... It's scary. And i fancy a change.
Slaanesh is there forever tempting me with his/her sexual eyes.
I must say I am yet to decide. Maybe I'll make a decision over this following weekend.
I may even ask the "wife" to help me out.
Ginger Could you help me out with some fluff for Slaanesh? - Colour schemes I'm mostly after... I really don't want to be painting pink AT ALL. What type of Mutations am i going to be looking at? And the such.
Thanks for everyone who's looked at my project so far! Hopefully There will be some pictures soon as I start designing a list!
Well, look who is making a come back. Templars and now Warriors, busy boy.
You have a good plan with buying only one unit at a time, makes it easier on you and gives you more scope when you want to buy/try new things.
Personally, I have always had a thing for Nurgle (its the buboes). Out of all the Gods he has the most range for interesting minis - making them seem diseased etc. However, you are looking at Slaanesh? They're fast, and while the colours used are generally pink and purple - there is no reason why you cannot do them any colour you feel like it. I think a nice green or light blue could work for them as well. Mutations, well I would say nothing ugly - symmetry would be a good thing to consider with this God.
I will help out where ever you need, dude. Even if its just to go (Ooo, pretty)
Well the major mutations for Slaanesh traditionally are giant claws, and tentacles. There is no reason thought that you couldn't have a couple of slaaneshi units and a couple of nurgle units in the same army, as like chaos marines, the importance of marks have been limited a little.
As far as paint, pink is traditional I am sorry, but it is. You could of course use warlock purple, which is a pinky purple, perhaps darkened down as a highlight on the armour. I would also be tempted to make a chaos standard with a daemonette nailed to the standard, as it would look awesome, but of course it is up to you.
This guy might be a good leader for you: Sigvald the Magnificent
He is the epitome of Slaanesh, and although he is quite expensive, he is hard as nails. Of course, being a special character, he is a little beardy, so you could use the following Lord configuration:
Chaos Lord: 360pts
Mark of Slaanesh
Father of Blades
Armour of Damnation
Favour of the Gods
Word of Agony
This guy has a 3+ save in close combat, and causes enemies to hit themselves on rolls of a 1. This, I think, makes a wonderful slaaneshi type lord, forcing the enemy to hurt themselves. I would also consider a couple of mages to compliment him. This guys unit could have a unit with mirror shields, to show the beauty they bring in death, (although this idea is stolen from Sigvald's fluff).
I can write some fluff for your lord if you would like, but I think how his army comes to be will be down to you. I hope this helps.

Arachnid posed some interesting ideas when it comes to Slaanesh! and that is maybe i could go for an All black scheme with maybe a little pink in places. Maybe the Helmets only? Or maybe even All black and paint a pink Chaos insignia over the entirety of the armour down one side?
So thats decided Slaanesh it is! And my this will be a very interesting endeavour! - There will be some communications with the girlfriend with this army over womanly bodily parts!
thanks ginger! that would be wicked! I was hopeing if you could maybe do a short fluff about a slaaneshi horde so I might be able to get into the mindset! - I promise I won't go to the extremes of Heath Ledger!
I love the idea of Sigvald but the problem is that i absolutly hate the model! Plus theres nothing better than creating your own Lord if you ask me. So I'll design that during my weekend at the Dad in Laws!
Of Course Ginger you don't have to do the fluff thing! You Could just dance! that would impress me as well! =D
sorry for the double post but WOW!!!!
the WoC army book is full of what I can only call suberb fluff. I must say I have definitley had some ideas about the way I'm going to look at this army.
Slaanesh to me seems to be the embodiment of my worldly desires and pleasures. I'm going to go for a themed army with Unit fillers rather than the usual blocks on infantry which seem to be favoured by the regimental Games Workshop staff of yesteryear!
the ideas then:
Unit fillers in my blocks of Warriors. now i have some ideas but others are greatly appreciated.
i) Deamonettes within the unit... maybe eating something such as an empire footsoldier.
ii) A Large Ogre carrying some torture devices (This would be a plastic ogre that is heavily converted.
some Conversion ideas for various other things:
i) the Chaos Lord/Exalted Hero: I have had an idea to use various parts from the Chaos Range to make my Heros/Lords. Now this has lead me to thinking of something along these lines: Beastmen legs. they are perfect! - The idea of slaanesh being a very mobile army. It's just nothing else but that really.
- These would be used as the feet for my chaos Warriors to give them the slaneshy feel.
ii) within my mounted units i could mix and match the steeds from the daemonettes and the Knights warsteeds. This would show various stages of ascension or favour within what essentially is a warband - or army.
iii) Slender standards. - These are required rather than the fat bulky ones that are supplied with the chaos warrior boxsets as the stated aren't very feminine and therefore slaanesh like.
Thanks for reading my ideas... please help me out with any oof your thoughts! Tomorrow! the initial army list will be posted! - Thanks for reading!!!!
