Welcometh to thy blog of Vampiric undeath!
After starting off with Vampire Counts as my first ever army when I began the hobby, I have returned to the crypt with the beginnings of a new army to threaten the borders of the Empire (with no real inspiration from one PrOtOcoN, honest! Ok Ok, I give in. It was him who awoke me from my coffin...).
Anyway. I believe at some point I will be dabbling in the dark arts of raising most of the different troops available to me, even if I don't ever intend to use them in a game.
The classic and becoming somewhat cliche colour-coded army progress meter!
50 Zombies (For Raising)
5 Dire Wolves
5 Dire Wolves
10 Grave Guard
7 Grave Guard
3 Grave Guard
2 Corpse Carts
5 Blood Knights
10 Black Knights (Will be converting)
Battle Standard Vampire
As you can see, I haven't got very far yet... I will be buying a Battalion soon I suspect so that'll give a useful boost in troops.
Awesome, I'm going to keep up with this one! That is quite a bit you have to work on, you'll have to keep the thread updated as you come along!
You got some building ahead of you with your plans. I will definitely be on the lookout for this and any future progress you post.
Sorry about the lack of progress, had assignments to do for uni but they're all done now . I have started on the grave guard and currently have one done (!) and all I can say is the great weapon guards are a pain to build . I'm still considering sticking shields on the back of these guys and sculpting a strap or something so I can field them as either GW or HW/S, so I might try that out soon.
Pics tomorrow, I hope.
lookin scrumtious, my immortal friend!
this makes me want to play VC!
keep up the excellent conversionings!
you know, who actually reads these things?
Thats a cool idea i did not think about attaching the shield to the back. Are you planning to do that to all of the grave guards or just a select few?
I do intend to do this for all of my guards, which is why it's taking so long . The only guy who will actually be holding his shield is the standard bearer, who I'm trying to convert his banner to look somewhat like a weapon, but I'm not sure if it looks right .
Cool! Shields slung across the back, I've been toying with the same notion for my Chaos Warriors w/ great weapons and my halberd Chosen. Not sure how to do it, as my GS skills are severely craptacular. I love what you've done here. I was thinking of keeping the strap more toward the neck and shoulder, as seen on this fine young specimen.
