I have the exact OPPOSITE opinion on the disk. It is an Opalescent rock that he is floating on, you show contour and depth with washes and some highlights. (Opalescent rock looks almost exactly how you have it there) Its as if he fashioned it out of the very terrain he lives.

Eh, it's poorly drybrushed metallics, but thanks.

He didn't get too many washes but lots of highlights. And glazes with clear purple. I have trouble photographing larger minis, but his highlights go almost to pure white. It's some of the best I've done, though a nice big cloak to work on certainly made it easier.

that is exactly how it looks from the pics i see. So to me that is legit and dont let anyone else tell you it is bland lol

Looking great! *throws encouragement*

You'll only get better at the metalics by practicing them more, so just accept that they may take you longer to do and throw yourself into your best effort. I'm sure they'll still look better than 99% of the stuff around. Unholy crap, the throught of you getting better is an odd concept.

Wow, I just got so excited I almost wet myself. This is awsome. I cant wait to see more.

My only comment on making the disk pop a little more would be to maybe give it an antiqued gold look.
