Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well, after painting about 15k of CSM (my only real army ever) I have decided to 'go Green' (TM) for my next list. It was a toss up between these or two Marine armies but these pipped the post as they play and paint so different to what I am used to.
I aim (and have the models) for this to be a large army with lots of different options but, for now at least, I want to keep it a 'Sunz' as possible.
My CSM are generally very moody/dark looking so I wanted to go for a much more ridiculous/cartoony look with my greenies - hence the bright skin and silly conversions
My wife is on hols for another 4 days so there should be lots of updates before then (hopefully). THis is for a couple of tournaments next month so it's a rush.
I am aiming to do (eventually):
4 Trukss & boyz
Nob Bikers (mean I paint less!)
2 Wagon units of 20 Boyz
I have made my bikers and am very happy by how totally ridiculous they have turned out.
I speed painted a unit of 12 trukk boyz yesterday to get schemes/skin right whilst watching the "once upon a time in China" trilogy and "Shogun Assassin". I am definitely gonna make a "lonewolf" Ork at some stage. Slightly OT but we were asking who would win from Master Wong and Lonewolf 1v1? Any ideas?
My aim is to get the army basically painted (up to about the same standard as the boyz) then go back and add uberness later.
Anyways, onto the pics:
Boyz & Nob
Nob Biker Unit:
Uge Chopper (what an amazing name for a weapon - I am so mature!):
Not so bad, I like. I was going to say maybe needing a few touchups but it seems you are aware.
Keep up the good work and keep this thread alive!
Wow! Those Ork Bikers jumping over Barrels are Mutha-F-in SWEET!!
I would love to see more details on you converted these guys. It looks like it's mostly the Nob Bikers kit with some Plasticard and Plasticpipe to extend the bikers and make them a bit bigger. What did you use to make the Needle for the PainBoy?
Cool - thanks for the comments!
The painboy is made from a normal ork warbiker with the wheel cut off the fron forks. The forks were then extended with plastic tubing to give it the drag look. The 'Urty Syringe is just a hand chopped off a spare regular painboy I had and the masks are simple GS
The guy with the buzz saw fist is the FW biker.
The other 3 are all Deffkoptas cut from (AoBR - I have about 20 for some reason!) with lots of added tubing/card etc. The deffkoptas are awesome (and fairly easy) to do this to but they come out BIG!
I am just assembling 10 Regular bikers (no conversions on these), 2 warbuggies (these will be heavily kitbashed) and a new Battlewagon which, like the bikers, will probably be straight out of the box as the models are so sexah!
Hopefully, I will be able to make a good start on Painting these over the next few days.
Dude those bikes are totally awesome!
OMG, totally awsome, Repz for you,
and also *subscribed*.
Come and join the YoungBloods social group!
MarkT? Is that you? It's Conor here from the Vanguard! Its a small internet isn't it...
Anyway guys, I saw these models in person a few days ago and the pictures don't really do them justice - they are huge! The bikers are very orky and really awesome, some great conversion work.
Im also amazed at the speed in which you've painted them. When I saw them on Thursday there was not a lick of paint on them, and now you've done them!? Thats really impressive given how good the paint job is... You get rep for that alone mate.
Can't wait to see some of your battle wagons take shape!
Ack - you've discovered my love of forums!
Yep - it's me dude... Wife is away for 4 days so have been painting a lot.
So far, I have 12 boyz + the bikers.
Yesterday I assembled 10 surprisingly annoying to make Warbikers, 1 Trukk, 20 Boyz and the GW Bwagon.
I have to say, the Bwagon is a beautiful kit in every way - it looks amazing plus was a dream to make - may have to get another now!
Hopefully I will be able to get a good start on painting these today/tommrow (waiting for undercoat to dry atm)... GW has really pulled it out with the new orky models - seriously gorgeous so they kind of paint themselves!
