    The Winter Wolves

This is my newest Warriors of Chaos project. It is a tribe of Khornate Marauders and their Exalted Champion Chieftain that are under the influence of a Tzeentchian sorcerer and his retinue of Soulless Chosen and Knights.

For the moment I'm doing the marauders.
I'll have 3 units of 18 Khornate marauders with great weapons. I use horsemen heads on them because in my opinion the normal marauder heads look hideous. The result looks pretty good. I'll post pictures of my first unit. They are converted and undercoated, an the pictures are of a pretty low quality, but it's the best I've got right now.
More will come as I go along.

    On my To-Do list:
    3 units of 18 Marauders.
    20 Warhounds
    2 units of 5 Horsemen.
1 unit of 6 Knights of Chaos.
    1 unit of 12 Chosen.
    1 Exalted Champion on Juggernaut.
    2 Nurglitch Sorcerers on Chariots.
    1 Tzeentchian Sorcerer on Disc
1 Custom scratchbuilt Warshrine (I've got plans on a floater)
    A total of 106 models!

    Wish me luck.

Why did you prime them blue? I have never seen that before.

Looking forward to seeing some progress on this. Necronsrule368 you don't always have to prime in black or white.

What does priming in blue give to the model?

It's similar to people who prime black and then drybrush the entire model with a color to supply an undertone to the overall paint job.

My guess is that Mr. Wayne primed them blue because the army is under the influence of a Tzeentch sorcerer, and we all know Tzeentch is really into blue. So his army will have a blue undertone to it.

Again, that's me talking out of turn, but it's my guess.

I'm priming them blue because I'm going to paint them in cold, frosty colours.

    My Awesome Marauders:
    - Marauders legs
    - Marauder torsos
    - Horsemen heads (only bare, no helmets)
    - Marauder flails (not horsemen flails. Just nip off the chains and glue a ice axe-head instead).
    - Axe heads and hammers from Marauders, Horsemen and Warriors to get variation. Don't use the Marauders pikes, they look too weak and small to belong on a great weapon.
    - I also make two-handed clubs using flails and the skulls hanging from one of the marauders standards, it was an experiment that really paid off. Looks awesome and even has some old Aztec feel about it.
    - One of my most exotic weapons is the two-handed hook. I just use the big hooks on one of the marauders standard and glue them on both ends of a flail. It looks like a really cruel weapon.

Right now I fragging hate marauder flails. They are a pain right up the --- to get right. I use shoulderpads extensively to hide bad joints. Khorne Berzerkers shoulderpads look really good on them.

Right now I'm waiting for my salary to come so I can buy my last 4 boxes of horsemen so I get all the heads I want.
The Jugger is VERY far off right now. The closest characters are the 2 sorcerers on chariots. I'll start on them in about 2-3 weeks time. I think I'll buy the 2 Corpse Carts along with the 4 boxes of Horsemen.
