    I'm painting up that guy now for the competition It's a great model, mostly mold-line free apart from a couple of bits. I'm not a fan of his hair-cut though!

    after much thinking about it today looking through the GW catalog I have decided on *THIS* guy, moment I saw him I wanted to paint it.

    not sure what to do with the base though so any ideas would be welcome

    Ah, nice choice. It's a pretty nifty model and it deserves a better paintjob than GW's (just look at the skin... :x).
    As for the base, I think a nice and simple one with him standing next to a few trees or such would suit the overall pose of the model. Like him surveying the country side for the coming battle or such.

    Started working on the display base for my model.
    I'll go with a Lizardmen temple and I plan to raid a local pet shop for some of those plastic aquarium plants. I plan to sculpts a few vines, lizards and stuff on to the base as well.



    The shape of the pillar is far from done. I'll probably make it modular as well to make it easier to transport.

    It's not that big actually. I mounted it on a CD to add some stability and make it easy to get a good, rounded look but it's only 12 x 12 centimetres so hardly a gigantic base.
