Welcome to Librarium Online!
This will be a project log of my, to date, biggest project in terms of both building/converting and painting.
For the past few weeks I have slowly corrupted one of the Emperors finest fighting machines into a bloated and twisted bringer of death and destruction, a Plaguereaper of Nurgle!
I knew early on that I didn't want to copy the one in the Apocalypes book, with it's famous c0ckgun. So I went for a totaly different turret. The original Baneblade turret is also too small in my opinion and looks wierd positioned to the right of the hull and not in the center. The Baneblade is sometimes called a landbased battleship since its so huge and carries all that firepower, so I tried to make the turret look like something from a navel battleship. Heres a few pictures of how I remade the turret:
First I cut the circular thing that the turrets rotates on off.
I then gluesd a large pice of plasticard to remake the roof that I had just removed and add something for the circle thing to be glued on to.
Next I extended the slopeing frontal armor with plasticard.
I then added extended protection for the front tracks. In this picture you can see amockup of the turret with twin barrels and what is to become the pus-tanks which is the ammo for the guns, here represented with two square bases. You may also note that the whole "roof" of the tank is positioned much further to the front so as to get a single slopeing frontal armor.
Next I made the turret itself. This stage involved alot of sawing things in half
Next in line was the cables and tubes feeding the cannons. Here I used the Chaos Defiler close combat arm, a string from a bass-guitar cut into pices and ALOT of green stuff
Next I added small wooden balls of various size, cut in half and drilled small holes in them. I also added plasticard tubes for smoke vents and a Death Guard Legion icon.
Then more detail, wiers, tubes and green stuff
I like t! It's like the good old Mammoth from C&C.
I point though, i like those barrels and the tentacle like constructions (defiler whips!) but i would try and combine these a little more, some more greenstuffing so it looks more connecting.
Edit: didn't see the later pics! Looking good! The toxic vats are a bit too orky for my tastes, but it's all good, no worries!

Aye, the Mammoth certanly inspiered me along with artist work of how the german Landkeruzers would look (link to google search for pictures)
Making the plague pools was one of the most difficult of the whole project. Especially modelling the nurgling pool-party! But I think it turned out ok in the end. Now I just got the left pool left and then some finishing touch up work around the tank.
Here is a few close up (and blurry ) pictures of the right side nurgling pool-party and the overall tank.
I love that rancid pool! The little nurgling are fantastic, great job.
Any ideas on the colors of this filthy beast?
No not, yet. I was thinking of using something similar to Cadavers Death Guard (found here), but I am open for suggestions
What I really have no idea of, is how to paint the pools so it looks like something wet and putrid....
There's a couple of things you can do to make it liquid looking: paint it normally but then use a gloss varnish over it, or buy the water effect stuff, the stuff they use to fake water with. I've never used it myself but i can only suggest you first try it on something that isn't the model.
It's used here:

Really nice looking model so far! Your Green Stuff skills are fantastic! Looking forward to seeing it finished!
