Before I start, big thanks to Tekore for resurrecting the ToP. I enjoyed it so much last time, and I'm looking forward to the challenge this time. Now, then, I've got a question for you guys. At the moment I'm down to try and do a 40k IG army for the challenge, but I'm really urming and ering as to whether I actually want to put more time into my new Epic IG force. I'v really got the bug for epic and the moment, and I've also finally found an opponent! Basically I am asking would I be allowed to do an epic army? I would suggest that if I aimed to do a total of 4000pts of epic, with 400pts being required each month, then that would be in line with the 40k targets. To give those that dont play epic an idea, the standard game size is 3000pts, and 400pts would equate to an mechanised infantry company, for example. I still think that painting an 3000pt epic army is less effort than painting a 2000pt 40K one, but as the ToP is a motaivational tool not a race, that shouldn't really be an issue, right? I'm interested to know what my fellow painters think |

SS, I would be fine with you doing an Epic IG army. I have never seen any cool looking Epic armies so I would be excited to see yours!

I wouldn't have an issue with it either, as long as you do exactly what you're doing; justifying the points. Just like you'd paint less points for Warmachine or Hordes than 40k, etc. ToP is definitely a motivational tool, none of us should be all that competitive about it (as if there's really a ton to be competitive about!) so I can't really see any issue with that. Naturally, Tekore has the final word, as this is his "show," but I don't foresee a nice guy like him saying you can't do an Epic army.

I think I'm going to be doing a mix of Cygnar and Rhulic mercs for my WM army. I have a plan for the scheme that I'm really looking forward too, but it might not work. Tests will be needed. Looking forward to seeing what everyone will be getting up to! -t.
