With a new Tale of Painters, I thought we'd get some new Comments threads going. This thread is for the discussion of the "Tale of Painters" for WFB, Hordes, and Lord of the Rings. Any questions, comments or general banter will be accepted.
Remember that the deadline to sign up for Tale of Painters is August 14th. One week until we start!
Up to sixteen Fantasy entries, with 45 total entries....wow! I just made the spreadsheet for all this, remind me to do that as I go next year, it's a ton of work!
this (Tekore's LO Tale of Painters - SIGNUPS) thread for full information. It's essentially a mass painting project where, every month, you and everyone else who signs up paints 200 points worth of their army of choice over the course of a year, with the end result being a multitude of fully painted 2000 point (for Warhammer) armies. There's really no contest, it's more of a motivational tool to help everyone get their armies together in a forum project.
Ok, I'll sign up, I have an unpainted NG army that I have been playing with and itching to get painted, i just keep finding other things to do with my time. This should help alot...... now I just need a decent camera.
12 months x 200pts a month = 2400pts
If you read the post I linked to, you'll see that you get two "freebie" months where you can miss out on painting; you then play a "Joker," which you have two of for the project, so it's still a 2000 point army. If you don't play any Jokers, you'll have a 2400+ point army by the end of it, this is true, but those two months are built in to account for times when people may not be able to get pictures or do any work on their models.
Post in the other thread if you want to sign up.
