I decided that I will do one non-troop brood every month, plus some gaunts to fill in the rest of the points. So it will go like this:

August - September = Sniper fex, 2 Genestealers. Total = 203 points

COMMENTS:

August-September start: Me being one of those people who just can't get the painting done, this is a very good way for me to get my army done, so I am 100% commited (Apart from the national music competition coming in October that I have to practice crazy for)

August-September end/September-October start: I have finished! This is a great feeling, especially after being so close to being late (saved by a 4 hour paint-a-thon). I am looking foward to next months challange, but this time I will be more prepared and putting my 100% from day 1. I have a Ntional Music competition in October, so I might still have to use a holy joker... Lets hope its all for the best!

And here is a picture of the painting scheme (I never seem to get the dry brushed blue and white on the carapace in the pictures as much as they are in real life, oh well...)



PROGRESS REPORT:
And this is how much I have come on the Carnifex. Only the Carnifex, Zoanthropes and Warriors are nearly done (requires editing to incorperate the edited scheme), the rest have to be done from scratch. The Carnifex, Zoanthropes and Warriors were done before the start of the ToP.

Is there a varnish on that carnifex, too?

To be honest I was reading through your description of the colour scheme and I couldn't see it working... but on a mini it looks pretty decent!

The claws seem a bit bright though, to me at least (could just be the photo, though)... do you paint the chaos black over them as well?

no, but note that I use extremily watered down black, which means something like the paint to water ratio might be 1:15 or even 1:20. It is mostly because the red parts and the facial detail have these details which show really well when you use the watered down black.

Note the Genestealer was not painted using the proper process...

I have three plans: A, B and C

A is the origanal plan, sniperfex and 7 gaunts. Scrapped. Why? I havn't even started the gaunts yet :o

B is the back up plan. Now in action. Sniperfex as usual and 2 genestealers. A lot easier and quicker.

And guess what plan C is...



Anyway, that means I will have pictures up by 8'o clock ish GTM today
