Welcome to Librarium Online!
Since the first deadline for the TOP is here, i figured i would also start a project thread, mainly to keep myself motivated to keep painting.
The goal is a completed 2000 point Winter themed Wood Elf army.
Here is the list:
Noble on Stag
Glade Guard x30
- 20 Guard
- 10 Scouts
Wild Riders x10
- Standard Bearer x2
- Musician x2
I will hopefully be updating weekly. With college and other stuff, I'm gonna try my best to keep on track.
Here is the submission for September
Only 12 are shown in the overall picture. 16 was to crowded and the image got kinda blurry. I'm sure you get the idea, they all look the same.
Next up is 10 Scouts for 170 points. I have also gotten started on my waywatcher lord. If I am happy with it, it may also find its way into next months submission.
Comments are welcome and appreciated.
I did a Wood Elf army for the first ToP two years ago - glad to see someone else doing one this time around! The Dryads look good, they certainly convey the idea of trees in winter. I'd suggest painting the eyes to give the model a focal point - maybe a blue or red? I'd also recommend basing the models somehow, they look a little unfinished as is.
Looking forward to the waywatcher lord, I loved painting up those models.
Thanks for the support. I do plan on painting the dryads eyes. Its just the way I want to do it is a little out of my skill lvl at the moment, so I'm waiting till i feel more comfortable. The eyes will be painted as if they are glowing blue as shown in this Tutorial
The basing will also come shortly. I didn't have the basing material at the time I finished painting but I should be getting it by this weekend at the latest.
Great first entry for TOP! Thanks for participating and I wish you luck!
Update for next months post.
I've started painting up some Glade Guard and I got the first 5 finished. I'm going for 20 total this month. 10 Scouts and 10 Guard.
Here is a progression picture I thought looked kinda neat.
I can't tell from the pictures but I'm pretty sure these guys are pre-washes.
I'll get all 10 hooded guys done soon I hope, and I'll get a group shot posted.
