First Squad of Tactical done and their Transport.

First time using mig pigments and they are awesome. Might add some fresh mud on the tracks. Incorporate the mud with some grass and bush to make it look like he is tearing through terrain.

Let me know what you think.

I was hoping we'd get to see that Rhino painted up. I like what you're doing with the marines, but the Rhino seems a little flat next to them. The marines look like they have a dark wash on their armour which adds a lot of depth. Could you add something like that to the Rhino in some of the armour seams?

Good looking army either way - what's next?

I did apply a dark wash to the tank, but it actually did not work out well. I had to dip it in Simple Green for a few hours so the wash came off. I would like to add more depth like you said because it is brighter than the marines. If you can think of anything let me know. (btw I used Badab black wash in the cracks but it was too dark that it left streaks if I was not perfectly in the cracks.)

I did add chipped paint to where the metal was showing, that came out well, in my opinion. Tried to add a little more to it because there was no wash.

Thanks for the compliment and the breakdown, much appreciated

The pinkish purple is very striking, and they do look the battle worn marines indeed. The mud on that rhino...I just saw it and thought wow. Maybe having a good product helps, but your placement of it is excellent as well. Looking forward to seeing some more! Rep'd.

I don't have a ton of experience painting vehicles, but I have a few thoughts. The first one would be to make the base coat on the tank darker and then use the pink color to block in big areas, leaving some of the darker base coat in the recesses.

Another thought would be to try the washes again in the creases but use less than you think you'll need. Once it's dry you can see if you want to add more layers or not. Maybe use a red or a brown instead of black?

I've also found that since Space Marine vehicles have such big, open spaces on them that the edges benefit from an extra level of highlights. You can make them a little brighter than your marines without the vehicle seeming out of place.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I definitely recommend Mig Pigments, Mr. Dee opened my eyes to them. Not expensive and you use so very little of the product to cover such a large area. Totally worth it.

Here is a link: Mig Productions

Me neither, but I agree with everything you said. I have a darker red wash, I will try that on this Rhino. As for the next one I do, darkening the magenta like you said seems like the most logical thing to do. Thanks

Scout I finished last night. Took me only about 2 hours. Have to fix up the bottom of his boot. Other than that, went for a camo feel on his cape, Ghilli suit type deal but holding true to my Chapter color of magenta.

Had a fun time doing this guy, hope you enjoy!

His face is a dark brown with green camo streaks, cant tell from this pic though.
