Hey everybody

A few months ago i started painting some orcs with the use of some new painting techniques ( atleast new for me that is) and with some bright colours and alot of washing i noticed that i was having alot of fun painting these orcs and i loved the sceme, so i decided to start a little Whaaagh of my own!

Whaaagh Gazgar!
Over the past 5 or so months i have been buisy buying, converting and painting alot of orcs but mostly goblins. Goblins are in my opinion by far the coolest race in the warhammer world and i love painting these little buggers.
still i started this project from a collecting point of view: buy what looks cool, painting it and see if i can use it in one way or another. and i haven't played alot of games yet but i've tried out alot of things that just look cool to use and sound like fun. A fun way of gaming but not a very competitive way of building armylists, so i lost every game up untill now and will probably continue to loose for a while...but who cares! because these games have been the most hilarious, weird, unexpected and fun games i have ever played!

So here is a list of what i have laying around painted or already coated:
2 Orc bosses
1 Orc BsB
3 Goblin bosses
1 Goblin boss on giant squig
3 Goblin shammans
3 Goblin bsb
24 orcs with shields
40 goblins with shields
20 goblins with bows
4 squig herds
10 squig hoppers
2 scratch build spear chukkas
3 fanatics
1 Doomdiver

Most of this is is painted and finished or still needs some static grass.

So it's about time to show you guys what it all looks like:

Orc big boss:

Goblin bosses

Goblin shammy's

Goblin boss on a giant squig

Orcs

Goblins with shields

Goblins with bows

squighoppers

scratch spearchukka 1

Fanatics

Orc BSB

Goblin BSB's

these goblin bsbs each have a magic banner: big red raggedy banner, Bad Moon on a stick, Spider banner
The squigherds and doomdiver have not been captured yet and the other spearchukka is in black undercoat ( making it impossible to see)

it's a very simple and straigth forward sceme for all of my models, but if i ever feel like giving them more detail or freehands i can just pick them up and do it!

My plans for the near future are:
10 converted cave spider riders ( nightgoblins on top)
20 night goblins to make 2 units of 30 gobbo's
1 goblin hero on a giant cave spider
20 orcs with additional handweapons
2 orc chariots
i have all these models in plastic ( exept the giant spider) so it's a reasonable target for the next 2-3 months.

But after that the real fun starts, going to scratch build some wolf chariots ( onces the new wolfrider models come out) and build my own Grom ( the paunch of misty mountains) with a model from AoW, build my own rocklobba! and maybe even scratchbuild some pumpweagons. and ofcourse....black orcs...

Well that's all i have to show and tell for now, comments are always welcome.

Stay tuned! because this Whaaagh is only going to get bigger!

it's been hard to keep painting with the amount of deadlines that i have, but here is something new! i already had half the unit painted but after finishing it, it was time to make some pictures.

today i bring you....squigherds! enjoy!

I haven't tried out this unit in combat yet but i expect good things!

I have also finally glued static grass to all the bases i have!, that makes everything look alot better together.

next up in this log will be : 3 goblin bsbs, spear chukka, new and converted cavespider riders and the goblin hero from the avatar of war range ( love the model, but they didn't have the goblin king in the store anymore.)

stay tuned

Thanks for all the reply's guys! very appriciated.

The bases are rather simple, just a codex grey drybrush and a fotress grey drybrush, it's a matter of seconds, and with the grass it makes up for some pretty decent bases.

as Kuffy said, contrast is the key in my army, simple colours but look amazing together ( if i can say so myself)

i'm not a big fan of greenstuff though so i try to keep my conversions simple and GS free, this is suprisingly easy though with Orcs and goblins. I just wish there was a way i could get an entire unit of goblins with greatweapons! i bet it would look awesome....come to think of it...sounds like a fun idea for my special goblin unit...

you see i'm thinking of building a unit of 36 goblins who are my generals bodyguard ( so they have to be baddass right? badass goblins....sounds like a joke..) but since i love all the cloaks and hate the current normal goblin models i decided to make it a conversion project. i'm just going to use regular nightgoblins, give them all sorts of looted weapons and armour (yeah armourplated nightgoblins) and let them count as normal goblins with light armour and shields. who can resist such cheap models with a 4+ save? but i'll be sure to give some of them greatweapons like the bsb.

Anyway, stay tuned for pics of my newly converted spider riders this afternoon.

well time for another update! the waaagh is finnally stocked up on heavy weapons.

my second spearchukka:

the crew isn't done yet, but they will be tomorrow.

so what do you guys think? i really think the official goblin spearchukka is overpriced and...well pretty ugly so i decided to scratchbuild 2 myself and i am very happy with the results, can't wait to try it out.

comming up in the next week:
3 painted goblin bsbs and a big boss
spearchukka crew
3 cavespider riders
and hopefully 2 orc bosses ( bsb and mounted)

stay tuned

hey guys, it's been a while but i think it's time for another update! painting speed has really dropped lately but i', trying to pick it up again ( games got boring anyway )

So here are 2 out of 3 bsb's with magic banners ( is it actually wise to show what magic banner you're walking around with?)

spider banner:

tried to make it look like a poison blade, but i'm not really happy with it, might touch it up later but don't know how...

raggedy red banner!:

i love the way this guy turned out but i might touch up the stiches...but you don't see it at all if you're not looking at a zoomed picture.

The next bsb will be a bad moon on a stich which is almost finished, the Orc bosses are taking longer though.
I did recieve my 2 goblin bosses from the avatar of war range though, great models and the goblin king is HUGE! he just barely fits on a 20mm base (but they supplied it with a 25mm..which is weird)

still thinking of what to build next ( i only paint when i have about 20 primed models laying since the washes take alot of time to dry and it's more effecient this way.) might be some more normal goblins or maybe a few snotling basses...requests are welcome ofcourse!

anyway, i hope you enjoyed the short update.
stay tuned!

Another update for my O&G:

spider riders with bows

since i wanted to stick with the nightgoblin theme i decided to convert them to cave-spider riders.
I used some beastmen shields to create a platform for the goblins to stand on, and strapped the shields to the back of the spider.
this unit of 5 has bows and the next unit of 5 will have spears and shields with bows attached to their back, since they are fast cav i could not think of a single reason not to give them shortbows, their are ideal for annoying enemy's and with spears and shields ( which is the basic setup) they can even charge units of handgunners/archers and destroy them.

the contrast in these models isn't as high as i expected but if i would bright up the red they would turn out exactly as my squighoppers, the shields still create some nice contrast though but maybe i'll touch up the spider somewhere in the future.

tell me what you guys think!

I like the standard bearers from the previous post. The banners are really good, but to make the spider one look more poisonous couldn't you add some green to the tips of the lowest two legs? I don't think it matters about showing the banner - who is to say you have to use that one? ;)

I really like the riders. The shields strapped to the back is a nice idea and they look great. I think the red of the spider looks just fine. Its a nice dark tone, too bright and they'd be vying against the yellow you have on the minis.

thanks you guys, it's always noce to hear good things from you 2 very respected LO members!

The poison leg tips is a very good idea Kuffy, i'll probably do that once i start detailing the entire army or maybe sooner! and i know that magic banners don't have to be shown, but since the choice of magic banners in the O&G book isn't that big and they don't make much of a difference anyway i'll just run them as they are ( most people won't know what to expect anyway) it just gives an extra bit of detailing to the army ( and it was fun to convert too)

paint monkey, the goblins fit on because of the shields, and i cut away a small portion of the feet at the sides of the goblin ( the difference is hardly noticeble) that makes then fit just a bit better. hope that helps with your problem

there's alot more comming so stay tuned!

well guys it has been a while, but i've picked up some painting again and continue's on my greenskins ( both 40k and fantasy ) and since some people have been asking for army shots i figured i might aswell try to make some.

And i have to say, it's damn hard to make nice army pictures, but here they are!

It's about 1600-1700 points of O&G on the field ( counting only 3 of the 15 heroes that i have ) and my plan is to fill the army up to 2000 point by september.
the next units that are in the proces:
-2 boar chariot
-20 goblins w/ spears (finishing the goblin units)
-20 orcs with additional handweapon

that would bring the army up to 2000 point and that's where i start building the real funny stuff (atleast every special char in the book because i want to paint and try them all!)

i also finished my spider riders a while ago, but haven't gotten to the pictures yet, but here they are:

that makes 2 units of 5 spider riders, with musician and half with spears and half with bows ( able to combine when i use the option)
it even has a...sort of champion wich can be used that way, i'm very happy about how the spider talons worked out. spider riders are such a great unit to paint and play with i hope nobody ever forgets these little annoying buggers.

NEXT UP:
Goblins, Chariots and Boyz
stay tuned

Hey guys, it's been a while since the last update, but i have been working on the army, the 60 gobbo's are almost finished and the first converted chariot/ lord transport is almost done converting.

how ever there is another project i started working on this week.... an Orc mordheim band.

i once got one of those old ugly trolls from a friend of mine and figured i might aswell put it to use and start a mordheim gang around it.

This beeing the original model.
http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA...60209196_ColStoneClubBoneRockMain_445x319.jpg

and this beeing what i converted him into:

i'm no king with greenstuff so i try to do everything with plasticard whichs works pretty damn well for me.

i'll post it again when it's painted, and i will probably post some pictures of the converted chariot soon!

tell me what you think.

I'd like to thank everybody for their kind reply's, i'm not the most active member on this forum, but every once in a while i'll post something cool just to hear what you guys think about it.

so for the next "something cool" i present to you my O&G mordheim warband. we started the campain a few days ago, but since we don't have much spare time to play these games i'm sure the party will be painted before the next game :p

my idea was to make a mordheim detachment for my O&G army, and thus they will have about the same colour sceme (a bit more detailed) meaning i can use them in my army when i play FB or i can use my FB orcs as proxy's while i'm converting the actual mordheim model.

so here they are:
first off some goblins with bows, these little runts keep the enemy from shooting my orcs. some small conversions with backpacks, extra knifes and whatnot.

Big'uns, badass heroes is what they are, in a few games they will be kitted out with all kinds of exotic wargear, but for now an axe and dagger will have to do.

the shaman! he already killed 3 guys in 1 game (i kinda massacred him though) and i just love this model (which i purchased from ebay a few weeks ago), so no conversions here.

the warboss! this guy is a straight A killer, so i needed a model that looked the part...and to be honest, FB O&G don't really have a real badass model, so i got one from the 40k orks...can you see how HUGE it is? it's almost as big as my troll! converted his axe from some parts, and scratchbuilded the sword. now that is a badass model.

and offcourse a warband picture with the whole started warband in it. it's a small warband because of the troll but that thing just crushes everything it meets. And it never get's killed!

so that's the gang up untill now!

The next update will contain some new units for my big whaagh, comming up:
-painted chariot and chariot warboss
-80 goblins painted!
-Black orc bsb fully painted ( finnaly! )
-3 more fanatics painted!

Vid. here with another update!

It took me forever to finish painting my orc big boss and orc BSB, not because they where hard to paint, but because i had alot of side projects running in between.
But they are finnaly finished and i'm proud to present them:

the Orc big boss on a boar:

no real conversions here, just some minor kitbashing and an emperial butt-plate :p

and the BSB:

this guys has been converted, i didn't like the sideswinging banner ( seemed like a **** to rank and it just looks weird the way he's holding it..) so some cutting and bashing later and it was standing upright. i also made some extra spikes with plastic-card on the shoulderpad and on the sword.

I know some of you don't like the bright sceme so you will hate the banner, but it sure looks bitchin on the battlefield and really catches the eyes of bystanders.

tell me what you think and stay tuned!

ps. next up is the chariot with detacheble orc big boss!

Damn, how come I've been missing this thread so far? Everything's looking really good, I like how your rich colours work together.

Have a rep cookie!

Plus, kudos on that BSB, really well painted and also it makes me kinda laugh because of the pattern it has on the flag. I want a pijama like that someday! :p

Cheers,
LS

Hehe alot of people seem to over this thread because it's not very active, but trust me, this bright army on the table top is impossible to overlook :p

The mordheim campain has been underway for a few months with maybe 2 games a month so it's not moving fast, but my gang has made progress and is alot more specialised now. For all you mordheim player out there ( yes i know nobody plays the game anymore but i can hope can't i?) here's the list of my warband:

-Orc Boss
-2 Orc biguns- both thoughness 5 and resilient now :p
-shaman
-Orc boy hero with 2 handed axe, 2 attacks and strongman skill
-Orc boy hero with crossboy

-1 troll
-4 orc boyz with axe and dagger
-2 orc boyz with halberds
-2 orc boys with bows
-the goblins that where in the gang either got killed, dismissed or eaten by the troll...not a good day to be a goblin.

so here are some pictures: mind though, many of the painted models still need a dullcoat before their finished, so don't mind the shinyness

The painted troll. He is not as bright as all the other orcs who are just as fibrant as my O&G army. I had really trouble figuring out how to paint him, but the darker sceme isn't tobad, i just wish i had some more bright detail on him.

The Orc boyz with axe and shield, these guys are amazing in the campaign, though and still pretty cheap, right now their the ones that shield my heroes from harm. As you guys can see all of them have gear and loot strapped to them, i imagine them going through the city taking with them what they want to sell or use. their not very converted, but a lot of kit bashing and swapping did make them a lot more personal.

These are the newly created halberdiers, the hencemen group got an extra attack on their profile and we have changed the mordheim rules a bit to make 2handed weapons a better option, and i went for it. although the blades aren't very clear now that they are still white so you guys will have to wait for when they're painted.

The rest of the warband will be in the next post!

Aaaaand we're back

next up:
HEROES!

From left to right: The Shaman, Orc boss, big'un, big'un and the beserker. Apart from the shaman these are pretty heavy conversions, bot the big'uns are made from a combination of black orc and normal orc parts making them look a bit bigger and more badass. the Beserker has the arms from the boar chariot set (i was very glad i found those) and the axe is also from the black-orc set. all of them have been doing amezing in the campain, with T5-T6 they're almost impossible to wound and they know it!

Now this guy is a heavy conversion, this is the crossbow hero i was talking about with loader goblin on his back. the Xbow is completely build from scratch since all the crossbow parts i could find where either to small or not very orky. the goblin is standing on a small platform with bolt quivers on both sides.

And finally the last 2 henchmen: arrer boyz. even though shooting is very underpowered in mordheim, it's still handy to have at least a few archers in the warband, and these models are just very cool so i had to use them.

That's it! i'll post a total warband picture ones they're a bit more painted and all so that might take a while.
Tomorrow i have another big game coming so i wonder how they will perform tomorrow.

Tell me what you think and ask anything you like for i am happy to awnser.
Stay tuned!
