Sadly between moving house and going to tournamets some of the models have gotten chipped or damaged, so i need to go back and get those redone, a few i painted in a rush before a tournament (plastic hounds, jugger lord and marauder horsemen). This isnt my whole army i have alot more however i thought it was enough to get the ball rolling.
plastic knight swith capes
Is that massive banner with the face on freehand mate or printed? Either way it looks great.
Also have to say I love the great weapon positioning you have made the rather boring pose of the chaos warrior interesting for me again thanks
all in all a really brilliant army, coherent through out and I love the dark red/marhoon/brown colour you have chosen on the armour, In fact I think I like it more than the more common bright red armour.
have a little rep
The banner is actually from 5th ed, they made a pack of banner and such for chaos warriors and beastmen, the color basecoat is actually chaos black with a small amount of blood red then blended up by slowly adding blood red and then sunburst yellow, originally i got the idea from Kharn the betrayer in the 2nd ed 40k codex, thansk for the rep and really kind comments
looking good! I also really like the dark colors. They fit Khorne well i think. My only suggestion is maybe a little more silver highlights on the gold to seperate the gold stuff from the reds a little bit. Also...
AVOID WOOD ELVES AT ALL COSTS!!!
Khorne WoC vs Wood Elves can get very frustrating very quickly lol... I can elaborate if you want but it is not a story I am fond of...
The gold is actially highlighted with a mix of shining gold and mithril silver (mainly silver) and then washed with chestnut ink, i was more going for bronze type effect, most of the chaos warriors were actually painted when the chaos warriors first came out (i have been playing Khorne warriors since 4th ed) so like the i think with the shaggoth you can see the difference in painting standard. I might in the near future have ago at updating the paint jobs on my chaos warriors however i have got really into painting my Blood ravens which until recently have sat about unpainted since the original DoW came out (so only 6 odd years lol!)
Sadly he speaks the truth in some cases, it is really a case of the type of WE player you are up against and list, this army isnt really designed on what is most effective however, it simply about what looks cool and it really is only the tip of the iceberg i what i actually have, i do actually have a barlog i converted into a Khorne daemon prince, it looks ok but it was my first real attempt with greentstuff so i would at some stage like to redo it, but considering how poor the rules are for Khorne daemon princes im in no rush to do so. Anyways, back to WE, i seem to recall in a game of 6th ed my Khorne warriors being flanked by some wilkd riders, taking no wounds and killing two guys (was highly amusing). From game point of view my normal list has some real problems, low magic defense, slow movement. I do however have 5 units of chaos knights and 3 units of marauder horsemen so i can easily do a face paced list however i have found these very boring to use.
Tomorrow i will go throw the garage and find some of my other bits to show off, i have two chaos dragons laying about (ones has arbaal riding actually, needs a better shield) and my funky 2nd hive tyrant converted into a daemon prince (i was really bored on day lol)
Anyways its great to see feedback on the army as it has been my pride and joy since i got back into warhammer in 6th ed, just a shame the new book let i down, now i need to figure out what to do with my beastmen, i have 7 metal minotaurs, arg!
Above picture shows a some of chaos army
pretty sharp looking army you've got there! I notice you have a Nurgle sorcerer on the shelf. Are you going to paint it Nurgle or convert it to be unmarked? Or will It be something else entirely to fit into your Khorne theme?
Hey cheers dude, i just came on to add some pictures (was goingto edit the other post but as you posted may as well add them here), with the sorcerer i havent actually decided yet, i do think however because of the new book i do need some stuff from otherr gods so i may well add a unit of nurgle warriors as well (i still have two special characters in bits because i never use them).
I started this guy but never finished him, he got slightly damaged when i moved so im still trying to find a few bits that broke off
I made this when i was bored
Wip of a Tzeentch Warrior, i havent really decided on a scheme yet, any ideas on what colors might improve it, not really sure on the shield, i dont think i will go with the brownish color pattern but i thought just plain blue would be rather boring, perhaps gold?
