Greetings and salutations all!
This is my first post here at LO but I do have to say that I've admired your forum for quite some time. Long story short I've always had the syndrome of picking a new army before fully painting what I have. This leads to many models looking like almost a waste of money as some are not even base coated (BTW I'm no great painter but I do simply enjoy it, calming as it were wot).
However I have decided that enough is enough and I'm going to get a fully painted gameable 40k force out there (never played a game so we'll see how this goes ha). I'm not sure of the scale yet nor of the actual competitiveness of the army or units. However I simply want to have a painted force (even if it's only 750 pts ha).
With this stated I've chosen Daemon Hunters and hope to be purchasing a few models this weekend.
Thanks for the read and stay tuned.
Welcome to the forums!
If you need advice on what to buy, go to the Daemonhunters forum and ask, if you haven't already.
As to the unpainted model issue, I feel your pain. It seems I always have a FEW unpainted models from whatever I play with. It's VERY hard to avoid that urge to jump ahead into another army, but fight it! I've had some boxes on my shelf forever, and I'm FINALLY starting to paint it all. It's been rough not buying anything new outside of paints, the occasional blister and codex, but in the end, it's worth it, I think.
Good luck, and keep posting!
Not sure if this is how to reply? Seems like the wrong thing to click on as it said quick reply...hmmm...
Anyway I was wondering if someone could inform me how to post pictures to a thread as I've recently purchased a blister of GK's and an empire warrior priest which I converted to hold a chainsword (for use as an Acolyte maybe).
Tried to upload photos but couldn't figure out how so any feedback is helpful.
Thanks again for the time and the read!
you need to upload pictures to a site like photobucket or photobox and then copy/paste the location of the picture into the thread, there is an icon (3rd from the right) in the quick reply box to link photos.
And welcome to LO
Thanks for the heads up!
Well I've included 3 pictures with this one however they are of such low quality that I'm not sure if they're worth it (used my phone as I don't have a digital camera). The first two are just of the PAGK's that come in the blister and they are soon going to be primed black and then I will try my best at painting them.
Using small chunks of basing rock for the bass along with bits of plastic sprue and some chopped up bass guitar string (HA).
The third picture is of the Empire warrior priest (the one with the shield and book) and for him I've clipped off the shield and filed down the excess to make it look like a more billowy robe (or at least tried to). I then clipped off his hammer and replaced it with an old plastic chainsword.
Again thanks for the read and sorry for the terrible quality of photos. Going to try to find a mate with a digital camera this week.18440218585_ORIG.jpg18440218626_ORIG.jpg18440218733_ORIG 2.jpg
Welcome to the forums mate! Tis a noble idea to get a whole army painted so good luck with that, you'll need it if you're anything like me!
A wee bit of advice on taking photo's stick a peice of plain white paper behind your model and hold it up to the light. This way your camera will focus on the model rather than the things in the background. I'm no expert but it works for me.
