First note; this is simply to get the topic rolling - This model is a test model (You can see the other leg was started as red - I was thinking Blood angels - however upon re undercoating grey for better coverage with the red i slipped back into my space wolf colourscheme and decided to go with that, and as such a SW army.
I know there are mould lines/thick undercoat/stage bits of superglue - This model was salvaged from a friend a good few years ago and he didn't take as great care as I do when assembling models.
Sorry about the pictures, its 1am and the lamp I have isnt great, better pictures will most likely come after more progress. I wanted to see how it looked sofar.
All feedback is welcome.
Undecided as to whether the earlier highlights need to be thicker to provide a larger colour change rather than smaller edge highlights.
Second picture refusing to show on first post. Furthermore they have both been scaled down. I assume LO now does this to avoid page stretching. Hold CTRL + Mousewheel forward/back to zoom in/out

Looks like the highlights are well blended. But I really need to see an entire "test" model.

Not the biggest update. Been busy - especially with trying to get my necron list done so i can start playing while I paint my space wolves.
The eye didnt turn out too well. Will try a different technique in future. I tried a gloss varnish on it, but it looked better before the varnish.
Backpack isnt done. Not sure what other colours to use for the remaining things such as purity seals either.
I also rushed the white a bit and it ended up a little chalky. What a pain.

Oh ye, it isnt by any means the traditional colour. I was hoping to not use that colour scheme mainly because I have every grey buy space wolves grey and the fact im not a fan of them being so blue. Judging from the SW book series where they are sent out into the snow coevered mountains to train, I think the armour should be a lighter colour.
The painting is pretty well done, mostly nice and smooth work. I am however with Dee here, the colour is a bit too bright. I get your point about possible camo, but space wolves have changed their colours once - from grey to blue. I do however agree that the blue tone for the chapter is too blue for my liking.
Aside from the color, which I agree is a bit off, the paint looks pretty good... except the shoulders look a mess. Did you have something specific planned for those?
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. - Douglas Adams
The guns/etc arent painted yet. The model is old (acquired from a friend) and his paintjob was shoddy. I didnt strip the model.
I've been trying some new techniques. Glazing/wet blending.
Heres a few pics of my first attempts (done quickly) without any medium/retarder which is a pity.
They look a bit better IRL and although I did another grey and a red (as u can see from some overspill on the green) the camera doesnt like red (which again is a pity since it was the best of the attempts being done last)
Also been working on my necrons. This is a colour test model to see what they look like with white armour added in. Let me know what you think please. Only the side vents are finished. The white is just a few base layers which i painted first on the model to see roughly what it'd look like. (hence why its got bits of black and such on it) This model like all my necrons were ebayed and so I cant be held responsible for the atrocities someone has performed with plastic glue. Also the little front pelvis plate has gone missing since moving house.
They also got superglue all over the rods and glued them in beforre even priming the model.
The finished model will have scorpion green details for eyes/weapon tube and chest symbol.
The compendium has been updated with alot of new things.
