Welcome to Librarium Online!
as I've blogging this over the last couple of weeks, I'll make a thread for this project and the other projects i'm working on. So at the moment i'm unemployed and as such have quite a lot of time for hobby related work. So a the start of last month I broke out two different WFB battalion's, super glue and knife and got building.
So what you see here is a Lizardmen battalion with a Saurus lord in the front of the table on the cork tile, behind is a Vampire Count army which includes 60 zombies, 40 skellie's, 20 Grave guard, 20 Ghouls, a corpse cart, three necromancers and two Vampire counts. So these are going to be my projects for the next couple of months.
What I learned from the first and second Tale of Painters on this website is that I quite enjoy painting armies, and this is really going to be put to the test.
To date I'm going quite well though and this is what I've painted over the last couple of weeks.
A unit of Saurus with hand weapons
A unit of Saurus with Spears
Unit of Skinks with Spears
And a picture of the army to date
At the moment I'm painting the second unit of skinks from the battalion which I have equiped with blowpipes. I am using my new airbrush to paint these skinks, allowing me to basecoat and give a wash to the whole unit very quickly. The painting of the blue on the skinks only takes half an hour in total.
I plan to finish the the lizardman battalion before I move onto the Vampire Count army.
Thanks for looking into this thread, i should update it fairly offen as I'll update it everytime I update my blog.
I'll be keeping an eye on this.
Looking good so far.
Cervantes: In order to attain the impossible, one must attempt the absurd.
I suppose I can suffer through having to look at some scaly beasts in order to see some Vampire Counts...
Ah, I jest - those Lizardmen are really looking quite good! Love the colour combination, it works really well.
Thanks deadstar, I quite like the colour scheme too, I did quite a bit of a work developing that one. I know there is a certain dwarf wandering around these parts who is not too gone on the scales though.
A certain dwarf, eh? I like them, but the grey scales bother me for some reason. It might be because they sort of hide the eyes, or that there isn't much contrast to them. Overall, I do like them, yes.
Nice lizard army shaping up there. I'd be happy to take them on with my space marines, even though i'd loose.

Jager bombs. Very efficient at wiping out friend or foe.
As if painting a two different WFB armies isn't enough, I'm also working on the large scale FW marine my brothers got for me last christmas.
I want to paint him up as a Lamenters marines so I want to show some battle damage. To represent this I decided to take a knife to the helmet, to show part of it destroyed and the marines face underneath showing through.
The black marks are to roughly show where eyes, cheekbones and noses will be. Today i used some milliput to sculpt the face.
I'm happy with the outcome as I've not sculpted a whole lot let alone a face. Since that I've done the face I've added wires coming out from fractured helment.
Dude! That is pretty damn good. Where did this sculpting skill come from? I like it.
