Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well hello there. Welcome to my first ever Project Thread. After going through (The Great) Lord Borak's project thread, I have decided to start my own. So sit down, grab a drink, and smoke 'em if you got 'em, it is going to be a long and (possibly) bumpy ride.
To begin with, I am rather new to Fantasy. I have a 3k point Bretonnian army that I started way back in 6th Edition. I haven't used them maybe 5 times in the past year, and you know, they just are not my style. They are just too pure and good. I decided to start something new, something I have never done before...CHAOS! So I splurged on 3 battleforces dimean batallion boxes, a Sorcerer, and a Slaanesh Lord on Mount (probably just going to be a sorcerer, I dunno). Here is what I have now.
The Whole Crew so far...
The Slaanesh Person on Snake-Thing
The Sorcerer of Foot
Thats everything I have right now, sorry for the quality my I-Phone is my only camera at this time. Starting on Knights this evening, looking for ideas on how to rank them up. Due to a weird problem, one of the Knight sprues in the first box was horribly deformed, so I am short 2 knights so I will have a total of 13, guessing I will just make a unit of 10 and possibly use the spares for exhaulted heroes, ect.
Lord Borak, and everyone else, now is the time to step in and tell me how fething crazy I am.
Firstly, good luck with the project! I know I tend to fail miserably at them, so hopefully you'll do better!
Secondly, if you've got a problem with deformed stuffs (Or missing pieces or pretty much any problem) take them back to GW. At worst, they will replace the damaged parts, at best supply you with a brand new box. GW have great customer service when it comes to things like that
Thank you for the encouragement. My problem is that I do not have a GW store close (2 hours away, we play at a friends house and order online). I attempted to call customer support, but got nothin, so I will just move on with what I have got and sort out the rest later. Working heavy on the 3 knights in this box. I plan to asemble one box at a time, so 3 knights and 10 hounds, then we get to do this process all over again.
The problem with GW customer support lines is that they ae being called almost 24/7 and are really understaffed. At least that's what it's like here in the UK. There's like 5 guys in the call centre O.o The worst situation I had was at Christmas a few years ago - 4 of the 5 guys had gone to lunch at the same time! O.o
It really is worth it though. If you mention the deformed knights are from a battalion box, you might even get a brand new battlion! I think 20/30 mins on the phone is worth that
Nice one, another chaos thread
I started off with Slannesh myself but have recently decided that I should start from scratch with Nurgle, and the models are currently on ebay.
I am still fond of Slannesh and intend to go back and redo my slannesh army but heavily converted this time around. I will be keeping one eye on this thread mate, good luck with your endeavour
return the knights, don't make do with faulty product mate stand up for your rights as a consumer I am sure you have similar legislation to the Sale of Goods Act in the USA. Although recent policy changes at GW means that rather than just give you new stuff I think you have to return the defective stuff, or so the local shop guy said to me, that could be just him trying to get some free models
If you send them an email they'll be able to work out a way of getting it sorted. Even though I live close to a GW they said I could send the deformed pieces to them and they'd send replacments.
Oroto ego sum
Alright, well I will have to call them again tomorrow, don't get off work until 7pm CST, and they wanted sprue numbers >.> which are at the house. Comming up tonight, should have the 3 knights I do have assembeled with pics. I should have this batallion box done by the end of the week and primed as I start on number 2.
That is a nice bunch of stuff to start with. The marauder formation looks scary. I look forward to seeing conversions and painting soon.
What is it with all the chaos blogs these days? BAH!
That's quite a horde you have there Trev. I hope you didn't undercoat them with that boot polish though.
It's a bit of a git. They're so bloody big their feet knock together so they don't rank properly. What I did with mine was to stagger them. Have the one in the middle quite far forward on the base. The ones either side of him slightly further back and then the ones either side of them further back still. Basically it looks like their charging headlong into the enemy with the guy in the middle of the regiment leading the charge. They rank up AND look cool while doing it!
Hmm I will have to try that with bits of cork Borak. And no haha, I use gray spray primer. Just helps me to see the spots I missed more effectively, and I find I dont have to worry about glossy finishes as with regular spray paints. Will have more info tonight, possibly with pictures and my first WoC Conversion....dun dun dunnnnnnnnnn!
