This looks interesting. I like the colour scheme, and I like the new Dark Eldar models, so presumably I will like this thread and the pictures I'm bound to find within!
Good to see you up and running with your commissions, Dee
Very interesting colour scheme, this will be something worth following I particularly like how you broke the set of warm and TBH a bit oppressing colours with turquoise. Nice touch, it all suits DE really well. One little thing if I may is that the bronze bit on the rifle looks a bit flat for what we're used to see from you. Might be the pic though.
Cheers mate. I will be doing the other 9 warriors then going back to my chaos frequently jumping back to the other units in this army when time allows, luckily the client is also a good friend AND my double partner for the February tournement and obviously it makes sense for me to put as much time into my chaos as possible to get the tournement army looking as nice as possible to be in the running for the best painted army so he doesn't mind me taking my time on these for the moment. Expect it to run slowly to begin with till about late January and then pick up pace after that.
Agreed I think the hair works a treat. With the bronze/gold part on the gun I have two words for you pal...Tabletop Quality I am not about to spend hours and hours blending colours on a tabletop quality model so try not to compare the troops of this army to the troops of my own personal armies as there will be little comparison mate. I am painting to a standard that I have been asked to paint to nothing more nothing less, sort of like on the slannesh knights, they were below my ability but it was what I was asked to paint so that was what the client got and he was happy with them and thats all that matters, although I am very much thinking of only offering my services doing very high end stuff as I do not enjoy "average" also that way every commission will also be a challenge. Only reason I agreed to do this eldar army is because it is a. my friend and b. its his birthday.....that reminds me "Happy Birthday Dog Botherer!"
Fair enough, he'll be pleased nontheless
Anyways that bronze bit keeps annoying me somehow. Not wanting to be annoying myself nor insistent though, it still looks good.
sadly guys my mate sent me an email last night and he wants a different colour scheme now on the armour, rest will stay the same. Suppose at least he changed his mind early on, although I had ordered paint especially for mixing up the basecoat for airbrushing. But hey ho such is life
YAY! Good to see you're getting the work mate. I really like that scheme. Shame he has changed his mind. Do make sure you charge him for the extra paint if he had already agreed to the first scheme. I've had clients change their mind on something they had already said they wanted. Never a problem but if costs are incurred pass them on.
Nice work Dee. I really like the dark look with the stark colour of the turquoise as a contrast.
