Welcome to Librarium Online!
Starting an Imperial Guard Army. A friend of mine has a lot of guard that he is trying to get rid of and i am picking them up as I need them. I still havent decided on a list yet, but I am thinking something along these lines http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...1850-list.html
I will update the blog as I get stuff done and see what you guys think. Thanks for reading and your comments! I hope you enjoy.
Veteran, Vox, Plasma
Not bad, how are you going to base them?
p.s. i noticed the vox head on a trooper, but it's not important. I guess you could say he's the corporal or something
Paint away my man, paint away
First of THANKS! The scheme is obviously not to exciting by I just like how guard look.
Vox Head: I just really like the heads with the breathing aparatus looking deal on them. Plan to squad them all up once I get enough.
Base: I think I am going to get some fake snow and use an effect i read about somewhere to make it look like globby mud and just give them muddy bases. But I cant really decide yet. Any suggestions are very welcome cuz mud is kinda boring.
nice painting. Your models look great.
Ok so I worked out a deal with my buddy. He has a ton of guard stuff but currently plays wolves. For every wolf unit of his I paint, I get a guard unit in exchange. I got a Lemun Russ from him yesterday and went to work on it.
Also I am looking for suggestions on how to make veterans stand out some but still follow the scheme more or less.
Ok finally an update. I took some time to paint some of my buddy's space wolves. Some of them have pictures up on our blog in my sig. I got back to guard last night and since Meltas are kinda expensive I decided to convert some!
Nice work, simple but look good. Look up how to do snow on the GW website, it is an amazing tutorial, I use it for my SM. I really like your tanks too. Keep it up
1 ) Add the tank sprue / HW sprue / some empire / heads from anywhere really. Always adds a nice touch IMO
2 ) Add the "webbing" or equipment. to them. Some marine pouches, cut up go well on these too
3 ) Extra painty shoulder pad works well at a pinch
Lani: Thanks, didnt know it existed. Im thinking of doing light snow on my guys as well since my friend and I play coop tourneys together.
Crunchy: I like the idea of adding different heads, Im going to hunt around. Also an Idea I got from my friend is since I plan to have 4 vet squads I could do each one with a poker suit on one shoulder pad, still deciding if it will look ok or if it will clash to much since I have plain jane guard.
I am working on the next set of units so hopefully I will have them up soon. jack
