This set of work arrived with me quite recently and I know alot of you will be interested to see how I get on and if the figures live up to the hype. My client wanted a real variety painting including models known to be awkward in metal. I'll not be cracking on with this in any real ernest just yet as I have a few other commissions to finish first but I'll be tinkering away a little when I get chance until it reaches the top of the pile.
So any progress on those yet?I would particularly like to see Huron painted.
Praise be to the Emperor!!
Well, some progress on these. So far two are going back to GW for epic miscasting. These are Huron Blackheart for part of his axe is missing and Queek Headtaker as one of his rats has his head missing.
Also as you will see in the pics below the ammount of extra flash and sprue is not that great. Finally some of the vent tubes and sprue attachment point are just plain daft as the cause a number of poor issues with detail. An example with the Chaos guy was extra bits coming off his fingers meaning it was very difficult to not damage them when cleaning the model up. One further issue was the elf has a gap in his halbard all the way down. Easy fix but for the money the moulding should be right.
Impressed? I'm not.
Sad to say I'm not surprised, fail cast seems to be very hit and miss. Some fine cast comes looking great then you get some like the above. Hope for your sakes the rest are in better condition.
"Should take you a while though because of your sloth like pace"

Great work. Do you have a pre-selected colour scheme or do you have the freedom of that?
Gedderz: Me too. The prep took alot longer than with metals. My client is sending me some newer models, too add to this lot, that are purpose sculpted with Failcast in mind. Theory being they will be better.....we shall see.
Kuffy: I'm to paint them pretty much like the box artwork with the exception of the Vets who are now part of a MASSIVE (really huge!!) other commission the client wants me to do.
Bit more progress on the Captain.
He' starting to shape up nicely. Didn't get away from that red for long did you?
