Not sure what happened with the lighting this time. Photos turned out very blue.
I'm putting the photo of these guys up, but I'll only be able to get them halfway done before I head off to work. So I'm going to have a couple other guys I'm working on in the middle of it, then come back to these guys when I get back home.
I'm feeling like the poses are getting a little redundant, but after I chop the shoulder pad off and rebuild it, I feel like there's only so many ways I can put it back together. Can't really see it in these photos, though, but the right shoulder pad was swapped out with squad specific ones again.

Aye it's always a hard ask trying to come up with different poses for the HW Space marines and Guardsmen. They're either reloading, looking for a target or shooting, and the plastics themselves don't like being converted too heavily.
I am curious to see the squad shoulder pads and how much effort you're putting into to deconstructing them though... pics later on perhaps?
But damn it must be nice to only have to do three models for the week!![]()

I should probably be quiet about this one, because once the cat is out of the bag, you all will realize how much I'm complaining over nothing.
Quick rundown of what I'm doing:
The missile launcher comes with the shoulder pad molded onto the arm and launcher itself, but I want to attached my own beveled shoulder pad. So I simply cut along the black lines to remove the original blank, right below the rocket tube and above the elbow. The shoulder portion of the gun arm is removed, so that the shoulder pad is attached to something, and so that everything is the correct distance away from the body. I glue the shoulder into the shoulder pad, then the whole assembly onto the elbow of the rocket launcher. Then it goes on the body. If I'm fortunate, I can stick enough green stuff in between so that it lines up with the left arm that is pushing against the tube from the other side. Then add green stuff to fill in the gaps so nothing looks too empty.
Problem with this method is the rocket arm wants to kick out away from the body, instead of across the body. It needs to go across the body so that it can line up with the left arm.
And I don't have too many models because I picked a very conservative ToXG challenge. I'm lucky to have a week or two to paint per month (generally has to be outside of work), so I had to set the bar pretty low given the restrictions.
It's been a good experience, though, and I'm excited to be nearing the end of it.

Been fighting a sickness at work, so what little time I have off I've mostly been spent sleeping.
My banner bearers. I'm still hashing out what I'm going to put on the banners themselves, but I've been mulling over some ideas that might work out. Something appropriately Astartes, with a little demon in there. Might sketch it out to get some feedback before painting it on proper.

Looks good so far!
Where did the shoulder pad come from with the tactical symbol and the numerals?
Kind Regards

They're Chapterhouse shoulder pads. I wouldn't say they're perfect, since they are a little more flat than a stock GW brand shoulder pad, but once you get them painted up and on the tabletop, you can't really tell the difference. Well, you as the modeller can, but nobody else really notices the difference.
I haven't found anybody else that does the same thing on the "correct" sized shoulder pad.

Yeah, if you're good with stamping out badges with green stuff (like the tutorial we have on here), I'd go that route. I had given it a try way back when, and wasn't happy with my results, so I went the simple method and just bought them pre-made. Plus, the stamp method would work better for things like heavy weapons guys, which have the shoulder molded into the weapon, instead of the third party shoulder pad route where you have to find a way to replace the whole thing.

Lots of excellent work, unique marines and great converting. And nice to know someone else is looking forward to the end of August, and putting ToXG to bed. An army shot of the years work will be a great way to finish up, and my theme of quantity over quality wont be so obvious. But mine wont look as good as yours sir.
Jager bombs. Very efficient at wiping out friend or foe.
