Though I am a little late, I have decided to hoist the standard and take up the quest of "Tale of X Gamers"
I am going to be doing Bretonnia, 1500 points over 11 months (approx 150 a month). Currently I have no concept of how long it is going to take me to complete my mounted riders so I am setting the bar low, if it takes a lot less then I fear it is going too, then I will up the ante and aim for 2500.
Unfortunately, I come from the future where people wear Armor or nothing, and all the animals are dead. So I am totally in the dark as too how long it is going to take me to paint miles of cloth, and mountains of fur.
I am still putting a full list together and will update it as soon as I have a better idea
The basic's will be ( currently around 2000 points )
Lord (on Horse)
Prophetess (on Horse) lvl 4
Paladin (BSB, magic banner)
Knights Errant x8 (Full Command, magic banner)
KotR x8 (Full Command, magic banner)
Men at Arms x30 (Full command)
Bowman x16 (Full Command, Braziers)
Damsel (lvl 2)
Pegasus Knights x3
Grail Knights x6 (Full Command)
I will update to a more accurate list as I gain some advice and experience, but for now I ride.....
(edit: List updated with Commisarlestat's advice)

Aha if I'd have had enough brets left that's what I would have chosen!
As for the list a few pointers.
First off it's illegal because you need a BSB.
Secondly Pegasus lord while fun can be uncompetitive so putting him on a horse in a unit of knights is generally a better idea.
Light armour on archers is pointless and those Maa need bulking out to a minimum of 30 to be effective.
Other than that I eagerly await your painted models for this month. Any ideas on colours yet?
Looking forward to following this one. Brettonia is the closest GW come to Henry V at Agincourt, but I was scared of painting horses. Good luck !
Jager bombs. Very efficient at wiping out friend or foe.
Well if there wasn't already enough to make me guilty about the few unpainted Bretonnians I still have on my desk, now there's a TOXG!
As an avid fan, I'II wish you luck on such an honourable quest as that for the fabled Chalice!
GLORY TO THE DICE GODS!
Currently I am thinking about starting with Yellow and Blue. I am planning a regional army based around Mousillon. I am going to do one Knight Errant from Mousillon (with black armor), and then for the rest I'm thinking Bastonne and Aquitaine

Sounds like a good mix. For the mousillion character try the virtue that reduces leadership of your own units for fluff reasons might work quite nicely. As for blue and yellow have a gander here
http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ettonians.html (Commisarlestat's Brettonians)
I occaisionally post in it but it has the newer models in a blue and yellow scheme think there is also an old knight errant champion in yellow with a blue cross in there somewhere as well.
Hope that is of use!
Way to set the bar! I do like how crisp the crosses look on the yellow backing. If you post any more pic's, feel free to post or link them here. Great inspiration
I like idea with the Mousillion fluff. I am going to do a back story for my army to help bring it together, but it is nice when some of that can transfer to the table also.
All models built and primed. Hopefully I will have some pictures up tomorrow or the next day
Here is a set of kit-bashed Questing Knights in a similar color scheme - with a little black, too. Maybe it will give a little inspiration... The full army pic is one from a while back, before I redid all of the bases. I did a regiment of KoR in all colors schemes and a regiment of what I call Knights of the King all in the Blue/yellow to match the rest of the army.

I greatly look forward to seeing your progress!!
