Haha!
It's that time again!

I come bearing gifts of painterly goodness.
And a bit of convertion-y goodness.
But mostly painting.

Ahem.

So, lets start with the convertion, and get that out the way.
I've been making this guy based off *this* illustration.
I'm pretty happy with him, although apparently I've ripped off some guy from warseer. Not that I've looked on warseer for months...

Next, we have some new work done on Captain Taal, specifically, some freehand practice on his right shoulder pad (which I never really liked as it was). So, I removed the old one, and set to some freehand goodness:

...And finally, I got my dread finished!
Well, mostly. I'm thinking about adding some freehand 'bas-relief' writing (similar to Taal's shoulder) across the arms and torso, as he is a little plain at the moment. I shall decide later.

So, as usual, thoughts etc?

Very, very nice!

I particularly like the freehand on the shoulderpad, and if you did go on to do similar things across the dreadnought it would look amazing. Like you say, it does look a little plain at the moment, but still it's a really nice paintjob. I expect that the conversion will look really nice painted up too.

Great work!

The dread would definatly benifet from having some freehand decals....right now he looks rather plain. On the Apothicary note, your not the first to do that and your not the last, although i do like your version of it alot. Once again, your doing some top notch work....keep it up

To bes honest... I'd throw them in the bin. They suck. I mean you could have at least attempted to paint them, black and white? Pah. Nice try. -__^

Nah, seriously they rock mate. I love the freehand badge, looks great and hope to see the extended and larger version on the dreadnought before the meet. -__^ I like the base, was that done with cork or something else?

I like the mini diorama there, I did something similar for Grephuan as a birthday present but used Night Lord Apothecary (she's a big fan) and a wounded UM marine. I can't wait to see yours painted. Come on!

Also, only about three weeks until you get to beat (loose to) me and then buy me a pint and meal as a consolation (congratulation) prize. Don't forget! =P Incidentally, I should have both the dreadnought and chaplain completed by Monday - with hope anyway. I am proud of the chaplain conversion. And I'm working on a small project to cap their completion off. =D

Looks great, T. Looking forward to seeing that initial conversion job painted.

I'm gonna murder you up Flamebeard...

Also, I <3 Vallejo Model Colour reds. Oh yes.
As featured on the dead CSM/Eldar on the Dread/Captain's bases above.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts, I shall definately be thinking about adding some freehand to the dread asap.
Uni is getting busy again soon though, putting on our end of year show. Exciting stuff.
Exciting here meaning "hugely, hugely busy and difficult".

hehe I don't doubt that mate. But I'm the one with the full looking army. =P

I have Burnt Cadium (I believe that's correct) which I intend to use one something after this long. I've used the VMC Ivory, Oily Steel and True Steel to good effect.

Looking mighty fine there, -t. Impressive work as usual. I agree with the others, some freehand decals on teh Dread would make it even better. I'm impressed that you can make them in a straight line actually!

Haha!
Everyone thought I was dead, but I'm not!

Yay!

So, things to show...
Firstly, a set of wound markers for Taal, which may be ripped off from a certain dwarf who I shall not name.
Maybe.
Click the image to open in full size.

Second, my standard for this month's contest:
Click the image to open in full size.

While I love the way plasma pistols look, I will never ever buy one for any character in my army. Thus, they are perfect for something that will probably get mainly used as an objective marker!

Thirdly, here is a converted scout sergeant. He probably won't get painted for a while, as I found that I didn't really like my scouts as CC squads, but eventually, he will kick some ass.
Click the image to open in full size.

...and finally, some very WIP shots of a librarian I've been working on for a very long time on and off, but who is finally getting somewhere.
I might bump this guy up the painting queue after I've finished another squad or two, just to see how he plays...
Click the image to open in full size.

Coming soon, some painting!
Maybe...
