Welcome to Librarium Online!
So for those of you who are not looking into my blog (for shame ), this is what I am currently up to.
I started posting up my progress on the blog to keep me motivated to finish my Mordheim warband. I am a serial starter but not finisher of mini's and I figured a blog might be the best way to keep me on the straight and narrow and get me to finish a model, and hopefully a fully functional and painted warband. To date it has been working very well and I am currently very motivated, to such an extent I am rushing home from work to get started on the painting.
How I have been updating the blog for the last couple of days but at the moment I am not able to access it so I am going to take up the slack here. When my blog access goes back online, I will post updates both there and here. With maybe some extra pics on the blog to keep some traffic moving through that part of the site. So if you want to have a look at my first almost finished model in the warband have a click on the "visit chemicalcavemans blog" link at the bottom of my info to the left. I say almost finished because following on from some advice from -t, I have done one or two more things to him, and I will post completed pics of him when I am finished. So have a look.
Right onto the warband. I picked dwarf treasure hunters because they are about the only WFB models in my possesion that I would be able to make a warband from. All the models are taken from the Battle of Skull Pass Set. In the future I hope to come back and finish painting the rest of the dwarf models to get a dwarf army going. So at the moment I am putting the first couple of layers on the leader and Dwarf Noble, who I am calling Olaf Stoneson.
The first pic is from the front.
The metal is boltgun, while the beard has gotten a basecoat of VGC Cold Grey.
The second picture shows his cloak which I have given a basecoat to of 25:75 VGC Bloody Red:VGC Goblin Green. I then added a first highlight of just pure VGC Goblin Green.
The plan for tonight is to get the metal started and get some more layers on the green. Any C&C would be greatly appreciated.
Nice choice of warband, there mate. I approve!
I hope to see this moving along well, I know you can paint well and I think with Mordheim groups you can do that bit extra per mini, due to the number of them. I will mark this down and follow it well.
Right the second update and on the same day, so it must be some sort of record for me.
So as you can see a little bit more done. I feel like I have the metal done, I don't know if the pic brings it out well but there is some fairly nice IMO green shading going on there. This was done with 1/3:1/3:1/3 green ink/black ink/water and a final highlight with boltgun metal. I don't think that I will take it any further with highlights as dwarfs such be gritty as far as i'm concerned.
The leather was given a quick basecoat with VGC tanned flesh. The beard was given a first highlight with VGC Stonewall Grey. Finally I gave the gold a basecoat of VGC bright bronze.
So thats what I did tonight. Fire away with C&C........
