this is the beginnings of my guard army. it is pretty much a misfit assembly of stuff from IG, tau, and WHFB Empire Militia. messed up, eh? yeah. also some green stuff. most of the pics are really bad despite light being not bad. the glossy paint i undercoated them with is not good for photos. i am sorry for the bad quality.
also, the lack of arms is VERY apparent. i have arm problems, and they are kind of annoying to me.

EDIT: also my WIP Heavy Bolter coming soon!
ok, heavy bolter WIP is posted as of................. now.
Imp Guard Full Album
i took about 8-10 of this, i think.
I sculpted the sandbags. ok, a few are from the HW sprues, but i got tired and lazy. get over it.
Heavy bolter. i think it's done. any suggestions? yes, i wanted it to look ruddy and beat up.
my ammo box. painted each of the bolts individually and highlighted them. the pic doesn't do it justice.
It's looking good Xeno! You have a lot going on, I really like it.
The entrenchment (?is that a word?) for the HB is looking awsome and I am just about to steal your wounded knee
Will you be using Doctrines and if so have you decided upon which?
Be aware when you mix the parts from the different sets, I have done so before and found that they are a bit different in scale. Those Empire Militias would make for perfect 40K basketball players, they have the legs...though their arms can be somewhat shorter.?. Fantasy is a bit freaky I guess...JK
I love your take on the bases, I have (very ynplanned and not the best of desicions) descided to make my bases last. I am starting to understand how stupid it is, but still...it's a plan and that's more then I usually have
thanks! i only did bases because i lacked the focus that day for painting or assembling. raging headache. no doctrines. well, i think i might. just not sure what. more pics of the HB coming. just need to paint up and assemble the loader and glue him on.
wooh, it's been a long time. i figured i'd add some WIP pics of some JO and command stuff. 3 measly pics.
yeah, i know there's flash.
all are made using standard IG bits and Men at Arms stuff. they are cool models. these are going to turn out sweet. there will be no progress for a while. i am leaving for england tomorrow. from USA. i was going to sculpt on the plane, but they're no gonna be too keen on that. well, see ya in a few weeks.
oh, and remember. these are VERY WIP.
I have to agree, mixing IG and Men at Arms is a great idea! I just received my Men at Arms who will be turned into a Necromundan Cawdor Gang!
There may be some interesting inspiration for both of us...
One tip if you are not already on your plane: Pencils may be sharp sometimes, but you should be allowed to use them for some concepts. Just draw some pics! It helped me a lot to figure out my last conversions and get even better results in the end.
