Test subject up for scrutiny.
Good model so far! I like the nose quite a bit, and the brown cloth looks good. What's the back piece supposed to be (i'm not familar with this army...) also, i'd try and get a little more depth out of the spear point.
Finally, how are you going to base these?
Very nice indeed. Not sure why the backs a different colour though? And I'm no great fan of the nose. Still, very nice.
Hope you're going to be using all classic night goblins. The new ones suck!
Ok, got the first five done. Only 35 more troopers to do...
king88: I think the backpiece is supposed to be a throwover, so I painted it a different color to add some variety. Hope the spear points look better now. Also, the ground will be pretty much as it is now, though I may highlight up another color and add a few mushrooms here and there. The nose I did like that to give them a bit more color...
cheese: Yeah, I have a lot (over a hundred) of the new ones, and about 4 boxes of the old ones. Eventually I will paint more of them and incorporate the new ones, but there is such a size difference between them I may reconsider. For now, all 40 of these troopers will be the old style.
Those look mint! The spear head has more definition and looks nicer. Also, it looks like the back pieces are a little greyer, and i think it looks good. The bases are nice as well. Not knowing the army very well, what kind of bigger models will be in it?
Well, I got the next five done (you can see full pics at the top of the thread). Played around with some checkered designs and some dags on the Boss, so I hope you guys all like 'em. Now onto the next five...
David: Not me. I think I saw that one though, very comical.
king88: Well, the trolls will be pretty big (I am considering using Reaper Mini Trolls, as the GW ones are not as nice).
I am really really shakey actually... but I hold the mini with both hands. The other important thing to remember is that your lines do not have to be perfectly straight, just let your brush do the walking.
Basecoat the whole staff Scorched brown (or other dark brown), then do your striations in bestial brown, then begin highlighting those striations with Snakebite leather and Desert Yellow.
