Piranha 1 - Picture 1
Piranha 1 - Picture 2
Piranha 2 - Picture 1
Piranha 2 - Picture 2
Both Piranha's up to date so far.
The only work left on the Piranhas is minor GS work on the Tau sniper cloak, as well as more battle damage to the one side of the wall, as if you look, you can see where I was going to put the flying base stork.
The reason why it isn't there now is because while drilling the hole, it came out into open air just under the lip part of the top of the wall.
So instead I've gone for having it in a more central place. I don't gain the height that I wanted for that base anymore, but it'll be more of a secure model in the end I guess.
Also both bases need flock work, but that will come at the same time everything else is flocked.
Also finished two squads of Fire Warriors which just leaves me with the Kroot, one more FW squad (Which will be made AFTER the LO meet as the test squad Tam'ya can step in for the unmade squad at the minute for play test purposes) and the other two XV88s to make.
The HQ, as well as most of the XV8s will also be made after the meet. (Since I have other XV8s to stand in as proxies for the LO meet.) This is mainly due to money as well as time.
EDIT: The Piranhas will also have two seeker missiles that will be placed under the wings.
While it seems I may not have done anything for a while, I have now undercoated pretty much the list that I will be using for the time being. Apart from the sake of a few firewarriors and kroot, who will replace other models at a later stage, and the WYSIWYG XV8s which still need buying.
Adding to that, I have starting painting the only WYSIWYG XV8 that I do have. (The one with the road and pavement base.)
and have painted the basics on the bases of about 25 Fire Warriors meaning that now I'm free to start painting the main FW models now. (The details, waterworks and snow will be added at the end with the final detailing of them.)
But I shall be working on these 25 at teh same time, meaning that they will all get done... meaning that a good part (Bar 5 remaining FW's) will be out of the way first and foremost leaving just the suits and Piranhas to paint...which I think will be less soul destroying.
I haven't painted today, but that is because I have been sorting out my new hobby/study room which will be used for the likes of model making and college work. Sadly I don't think I'll have a PC in there, so I'll probably be online less... still, if it gets me to actually FINISH an army, I can't complain.
It's not quite finished yet, so no pictures until I'm sorted and fairly happy with it.
I was going to show pictures of my new hobby area and the ruin I have been working on over the last couple of days but sadly my camera usb wire has gone walkies >_<
I paint the first stage of red on 5 of the Firewarriors, and the started the 2nd stage of red on the only WYSIWYG suit that I have at the minute.
I also finished that ruin that I mentioned also. It turned out ok in the end, but its nothing amazing, just something to add to my terrain collection... not that I'll get to use it any time soon ¬_¬
Still, I find it good to have a small terrain project going on at the same time as any other painting projects.... mainly so that when I get bored of painting one colour or one particular model, I always have something easy, bigger and fun to work on instead
Plus it should help build up my terrain collection a bit more at any rate.
So hopefully one or two pictures of my new hobby area soon, providing that wire turns up ¬.¬
*hides wire behind back*
Look forward to seeing stuff you ball of fur. =P
Looking good Toast. I want to see some real models! Not them stinking test ones!
Oh, and good luck with you edumacation.

7th Aug - Steady Progress.
Carried on with the Tau today, but still didn't get as much as I wanted done. (Stupid housework ¬.¬)
The ten man squad of firewarriors that I'm working on have now gotten onto the 2nd stage of red, and I also got a bit more work on the superman looking XV8 done, though sadly, I'm not overly happy with the way the base is coming out. The good thing about that it that because its flying it means its not yet attached to the base. So I'll most likely re make the base if it continues to look crappy.
The XV8 model itself is coming on to. I have the detailing to do now as well as the tidy up work and the lenses.
I also worked a bit on a bit of terrain. Its WiP at the minute mind, but I think its coming along ok.

I think I'll have it as a stand alone piece without a base, but its tempting to make a small base for it, or a larger compound base with wire link fence. But I'm not sure on that yet.
TBH, I think it'll look ok without a base, and I don't really want the extra work.
Work for the next two days, so I'll probably not get anything substantial done till Friday on my next day off, but I will be trying to get the 2nd stage of red on the other 6 FW's done after work tomorrow and Thursday, that way I can crack on with something else on the Friday.

14th Aug, 2007 - Cooooties!
I managed to get done the second stages of red on the Firewarrior squad, and I'm now four minis into doing the blazing orange paintwork/highlight stage.
I haven't done a lot over the weekend, but then now being in a relationship, I haven't had the time
But I do have some WiP pictures to post at least
This is the base I'm somewhat unsure of. The suits squadmate with also have a road base too, but I'm not sure how this one is coming out at the minute. I think its a problem with the water stuff in the small crater. It seems to be sinking o_O And not lying flat. Which leads me to suspect that I left a small hole in the flock at the bottom... but its had a lot of coats already, so surely that should have filled up now?
Still if it carries on then I'll scrap the base and restart I think.
Fire warrior squad:
The four at the back are the ones with the Blazing Orange work done on them. The rest are waiting for that.
Then I'll gives some thiner, more lighter highlights with a blazing orange + white mix before red washing them.
Dear All Concerned,
Well, although I am not sure about the fox thing, I'll just go ahead. Looks great so far from what I can see, although it would satisfy me to see a few more pictures (different angle) of some of the models.
As said before, looking good (better than my Tau project) and I hope to see this continue!

This is another angle of the WiP XV8, but its not the best of pics.
