Well this is I guess something that I thought the people down here at LO would enjoy. Though not completly done, this is the cumulation of many late night hours painting and obserbving other great painters in White Dwarf and so on. Hope you like it, I really tried to get that epic struggle feeling of the 40k universe in it. All that needs to be finished is the figure on the jetpack and some other minor details.
So enjoy and please tell me your comments.
I like the concept. The lava could use more work (color, maybe some floating, darker "crust" thingies?), as well as the warrior that is getting out from it - I am not sure if you decided where the light is coming from on that model... Nice work though
Great work I really like it! Especially how the lasr is melting that one warrior.
obviously the lighting is coming from all around that necron in that lava becase hes sitting in it.
One suggestion tho is to paint the dark angels and the necrons in a darker color, and not highlighting any of the dark angel's green armor. That way, the light effect coming from the lava would have a much more dramatic effect.
WEll I use a glossy finish over the lava floe before I fully realized that it needed in my opinion more yellow highlights. But thanks for the suggestion.
Well thought out. The positioning of the models looks natural.
Is that a laser or a plasma gun? You might consider changing its color to blue. As it stands there's lots of red in this diorama, so the 'beam' would stand out a little more if you changed its color. I wouldn't suggest green, however, since the necron's already have this color in their weapons.
Overall, it's a good looking scene.
