Well, I probably don't, but I have no clue what to do with them
I'm just starting out Magic properly - dabbled with borrowed decks and stuff, but only just getting into the real thing. Did a Worldwake/Zendikar booster draft that ended with a somewhat 'meh' blue/black deck, snagged another booster, then spent a while on the Magic site prowling through theme decks.
In the end, I got both Mysterious Realms and Unstable Terrain - similar theme with the Landfall stuff, I already had a decent basis in blue, and they weren't too pricy. Then, since it was a freeby thing (ordered stuff from Manaleak), got about 200 random commons and uncommons, and a couple of rares.
End result, I probably have the best part of 300 cards to organise into a deck ¬¬
It's obviously waaaaay to much to list them all, so the simpler question is simply: what do you guys suggest? I've got a decent amount of land-related cards (Terramorphic Expanse, Pilgrim's Eye, a couple of Walking Atlases and an Expedition Map), plus a few Zendikons and lots of Landfall cards. I also have a complete lack of any non green or blue lands - with special lands, probably have enough for a pure Blue, but not enough for pure Green.
300 cards? I've got more than that just from 7th edition
Sadly I stopped played after Onslaught so I have no idea what any of those cards are, lol.
One thing I would advise is to pick a theme for your deck, and stick to it. I did very badly at a tournament last weekend as I got distracted from the theme and in the end didn't have enough landkill for my rhystic cards to work
Heh, fair enough. How about a few more general questions? The deck I threw together as an experiment ended up as 27 lands (13 basic forest, 9 basic island, three Halimar Depths, one Quicksand, one Terramorphic Expanse), one enchantment (Wind Zendikon), three sorceries (two Mysteries of the Deep and a Harrow), four artifacts (Adventurer's Gear, Seer's Sundial, Eldrazi Monument and Expedition Map), and the rest creatures. I don't think you could accuse me of going off theme =P Every creature either has Landfall (gets bonuses if I've played a land, in case you don't know) or somehow brings new land out or finds it.
I'm just slightly worried that I've overdone it. With pretty much no real non-creature spells, it's a very blunt deck with no subtlety or tricks other than what's on the creatures, or the Eldrazi Monument. The extra lands might help with continuing to trigger Landfall, and the huge amount of creatures means I shouldn't lack for them, but I feel like there's something wrong with it.
Sounds to me like you should be ok - everything in the deck fits along the theme. Creature heavy decks work nicely, unless you come across an opponent with a creatureless black deck 27 land is a little high for a 60 card deck but as you're land based for your theme I don't think there's any problem with balance.
Just be careful to Harrow when your opponent can't counterspell
EVERY top placing Magic Deck in tournaments runs 25 land in a 60 card deck with a 15 card sideboard. This allows a good amount of balance of mana and spells and 5 lands you could technically pull out for 5 cards in your sideboard. That is only a possibility personally I never run less then 25 land in my decks.
You can check out mtgsalvation.com for deck lists of some really good decks if you are really competive
Hmmm Deathwing...or...Grimmnar's Wolf Guard Termies...I think I'll be depressed rather then Barbaric. Deathwing!
Dark Angels 2/0/1
I usually go for 40% land in a dual colour deck, with 30% for mono and maybe 45ish% for tricolour - and I play with a 70 card deck, as I like to be sure any stalemate will end up in my favour if it goes to the boards.
analyise this and analyse that were great moves. I splelt that wrong. twice. I even spelled spelled wrong. I also said move instead of movies.
